Another stop Fall Elite Camp tour in the books - @willamettembb on Sunday

I sadly missed Willamette’s elite camp last year as it unfortunately was scheduled on the same day as the PrepHoops Expo - something none of us was looking to do but sometimes scheduling can be tough. So when I saw I could make it this year, I definitely made it a priority - and scheduled my trip back to Kentucky so that I could be back home to make it down to Salem.

The Bearcats are coming off an incredible season where they were one step away from the NCAA D-III Tournament and head coach Mike Lenahan knows that increases the level of expectations but much of last year’s squad is back - notably returning junior @overbytanner, who is coming off an incredible sophomore season.

I got to campus right after lunch and before all the live play so it was good to see all the kids in action - many of whom were from in-state, something that’s been a point of emphasis in Willamette’s recruiting efforts these past few years. So good to catch Tanner before he left for the day and of course, catching up with Mike and assistants @isiahquintero11 and @13am13o. Some good interactions with kids and parents as well - should be some content and interviews coming out on the site soon!

Congrats to Elite 24 player, 6’3, Kevin Junkin from, Summit HS, on his offer to play college basketball at Willamette University. Top couple athlete in entire state, allows him to play much bigger than his height. Continues to get better and better as the game slows down for him, with increased consistency from 3pt land, it will be VERY difficult to guard him. One of best rebounders in state. Big time future!

THE SUMMIT STORM TAKE THIRD🥉
The Storm beat Centennial 77-71 to finish the season on a win and coming home with the bronze! Each year the Summit Storm basketball team is so much fun to watch and each year they have a star studded senior class. Their duel with Crook County was one of the most fun games I’ve ever seen! And don’t be shocked to see them in the tournament next year because March runs in the Summit DNA⚡️⚡️

Also shoutout the Crook County students supporting the Storm in this game!
