Really looking forward to this one ❤️

On Sunday 13th September, I’ll be performing at The Jazz Cafe, London with Black Voices Quintet, presenting The Soul of Nina Simone.

Nina Simone’s music has travelled through generations — gospel, blues, jazz, classical music, protest, love, pain and freedom. Her voice, her music and the things she stood for still feel just as important today.

Black Voices have been celebrating and carrying forward the Black oral tradition for nearly 40 years, performing around the world and sharing stages with some incredible artists — including Nina Simone herself.

It feels very special to be part of this night, honouring her music with Black Voices and a full live band, at a
venue I’ve loved performing at over the years.

Spiral Dance.

We seem to keep living the same stories.

Round and round we go. The same divisions.

The same fears. The same systems. The same mistakes.

We live in a world where some have more than they could ever need, while others struggle to survive. We’re encouraged to compare ourselves, chase status, follow the crowd, and consume more, while history is written by those with the loudest voices. Our attention is constantly pulled away from the things that truly connect us.

Nature reminds me that there is another way.

Beneath our politics, wealth, borders, beliefs and backgrounds, we all want many of the same things: to be seen, to belong, to love, to feel safe, and to live with purpose.

Spiral Dance isn’t about having the answers. It’s about asking whether we’ve forgotten what makes us human.

Maybe change doesn’t begin with governments or billionaires.

Maybe it begins with each of us choosing love over fear, compassion over judgement, and connection over division.

Some thoughts on self-love. ❤️

This song is as much a message to myself as it is to the people I love and admire.

We spend so much of our lives encouraging others, believing in them, and reminding them of their worth. Sometimes we forget to offer ourselves that same kindness.

Self-love isn’t about being perfect or having all the answers. It’s about accepting where you are, being patient with yourself, and trusting that you’re enough—even on the difficult days.

I hope this song meets you wherever you are and reminds you to be a little gentler with yourself.

As I prepare to leave Newport and head out on tour, I’ve been reflecting on my song Stories Will Change.

Life is full of stories. Stories we’ve inherited, stories we’ve been told, and stories we’ve told ourselves. Sometimes we become so attached to them that we forget they aren’t the only version of events.

What happens when we change the story?
What happens when we let go of old expectations, past hurts, judgments, and the need for things to be a certain way?

A small shift in perspective can open a completely new path. Different actions create different outcomes. Different viewpoints reveal possibilities we couldn’t see before.
I’ve learned that home isn’t always a destination. Sometimes it’s a state of being.

A place we arrive at when we stop carrying the weight of who we thought we had to be and allow ourselves to become who we are.

As I share this video from my album Home, I invite you to consider the stories you’re holding onto. Which ones still serve you? Which ones are ready to be rewritten?
The story can change. And when it does, so can everything.

Sometimes the way home isn’t finding where you started—it’s discovering who you’ve become along the way.

Feeling a real sense of freedom around the album right now. I’m allowing the music to breathe, feeling more open, more present, and more connected to the journey than ever.

I call it in

I shot this video in Wales — surrounded by land, sea, sky and that quiet feeling that nature gives you when it reminds you where you belong.

This song came from a place of seeking strength, calling on spirit, ancestry, the universe, and remembering that we’re connected to something much bigger than ourselves.
