What could go wrong? An old olive oil mill under construction, no electricity, and a downpour. Naturally, I insisted we have dinner there.

But what could possibly go right?

Candles everywhere. One generator. Ibérico pork, duck, veal, and vegetables cooking over an open fire. Cases of wine served in our finest plastic cups.

It’s all in who you share it with. We came for dinner and ended up dancing the night away. 🤍

After closing in 2021, Cosmic Cafe has reopened on Oak Lawn, bringing back the eclectic vegetarian spot many Dallas diners remember. The century-old house still leans into its colorful charm, with murals, mismatched mugs, and a self-serve chai station that feels frozen in time. The menu remains largely unchanged, offering everything from naan pizzas to falafel and comforting, veggie-forward plates—all at approachable prices. This project came to life through weeks of preparation, the collaboration of 100+ people, and the execution of 100 videos along with hundreds of photo deliverables.
