Last night was a very special night. I was awarded the Deadly Alumni award for my constant work with RMIT and Ngarara Willim and the work I do out in community. This was the first time they’ve given this award to an blakfulla alumni and will be awarded annually at graduation. I feel extremely honoured receiving this award. My hope this inspires future generations to follow their dreams and going to university can help you get there. Big shout out to my brothers and sisters for supporting me throughout my studios. Big love to my deadly cousin @kevkropofficial for always making sure I fed myself and got to and from uni. Big love and appreciation to Ngarara Willim for all you do for mob locally and nationally. Without you getting thru uni would be torture.

This month, VACCHO launched The Biggest Relief campaign to coincide with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Bowel Cancer Awareness Month. The ad campaign stars proud Ngarrindjeri comedian @kevkropofficial and features two videos that encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria aged 45 and over, to complete the bowel screening test. VACCHO Acting CEO Jim O’Shea says the campaign uses humour to help break down common barriers to screening for Mob – including shame and misconceptions about the test. “We know that participation in bowel screening by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities remains significantly lower than other Australians, so this campaign is vital.” Read more about The Biggest Relief campaign via the link in bio. #VACCHO #AboriginalHealth #BowelCancerAwarenessMonth #HealthInformation #HealthAwareness
