@tesinyphilly has a new chef, @kevmcwilliams frmrly of Laurel, and he’s brought that obsessive attention to detail with him. I’ve always loved how Tesiny feels like a glowing lighthouse of hospitality in the gulf between Pennsport and Passyunk. Now, I love the food, too. Case in point: a fat sugary scallop, roasted with ‘nduja butter and crowned with finger lime. I suggest blotting up the leftovers with an order of @mightybreadco sourdough 🐚

Iced shrimp cocktail (minus cocktail sauce)

Tuna crudo, green strawberry vin, furikake

Skate wing Milanese, celery salad with lemon balm (chefs, please use more lemon balm), hazelnuts and blackberries

Corn and crab, cardamom and lime

Brown-buttered hanger and Dijon — steak of the year from a seafood haven who knew?

Double date night at @tesinyphilly with @ianmoroney and the Coccos
@coccos.gelato @mattvcocco @jenicainphilly

When planning this very very long overdue date, Jenica asked me if there was any place we'd been wanting to try and I said, wellllll, what I'd really like to do is go back to Tesiny and check out the menu under new chef @kevmcwilliams

And so we did!

White anchovies with piquillo peppers and @mightybreadco sourdough

Yellowfin tuna crudo with an amazing green strawberry kosho (which I ate every last drop of with the aforementioned sourdough!)

Pickled mussels with espelette & breadcrumbs

Perhaps my favorite dish of the night: wagyu carpaccio draped over heirloom tomatoes and charred onions and showered with horseradish

(Off menu) super tasty burger combining tuna belly and pork (what?!)

Summer squash and fromage blanc with urfa and pinenuts

Pork with sea beans and pickled mustard seed bathing in a plum suace

And one of the best octopus dishes I have had lately, with gigante beans and cherry tomatoes

And we even got dessert!

Coconut sorbet with almond oil and caviar (better than jimmies!!!)

And chocolate coffee mousse with strawberries and hazelnuts

🩷 Tesiny is better than ever - if you haven't been for a while this is your hint to go back!
