LIFT Lesson: 6 Basic Movements for a Great Program
-
A solid program has some structural components. In our opinion if your program doesn’t have these movements you are cutting yourself short. You don’t need all of these everyday in your LIFT, but you should be doing it at some point throughout the week.
-
Once you see exercise through the lens of “movement” you will be training like a pro.
-
Let’s get to it. Here is a quick list and an example of each.
-
✅Vertical Push- Overhead Press
-
✅Vertical Pull- Chin up
-
✅Horizontal Push- Bench Press
-
✅Horizontal Pull- Seated Row
-
✅Leg Push- Squats (quad dominant)
-
✅Leg Pull- Deadlift (posterior chain dominant)
-
We like to refer to these as the “basics”. The basics will always be there. They will never trend out because they work time after time after time.
