Reminiscing on the seeds that birthed 🥹 the tree 🌱 🌳 ❤️. Here are some of the mockups that COULD HAVE become the “Talk To Your Mom” logo, but we went with the tree as a solitary symbol of our root system, connecting both past and future, the leaves, as the source of fruit/nourishment, and the steady trunk, that carries our oxygen (life). She is mother earth: our sustainer and our collective responsibility. To be in conversation with her is our joy, as well as our holy work ❤️ As we gear up to wrap up season 3, we are thinking of bringing back one of the unreleased logos from 7 (!!) years ago! @hellobeautiful is the happiest place on the internet they accept the bookworm, lover girl, fat fashionista and arts nerd in me. Before mainstream was clamoring to shield themselves with our voices they were there giving us a space to connect to ourselves and each other. I’m so happy that they’re expanding that space offline more and more. Media is going through a lot but I’m so happy @ionedigital is still standing tall and telling stories that matter with their Women To Know issue.

Hi! Earlier this year, inspired by “The Artist’s Way,” I started taking myself on artistic dates to get out of a creative rut, and I want to share some of them with y’all! Welcome to “Artistic Dates With Charise.” I was hype to attend the @blackzinefair at @powerhouse_arts in Brooklyn (yerrrrrrrrrr!) on Saturday. @keyairakelly tagged along and encouraged me to document so here we go 🫶🏿. The event was absolutely everything and I will def return next year. It was also lovely meeting so many creatives and artists like @artlaish who made the beautiful “Lady in green” piece that I purchased. And giving so many flowers to @jennebella who inspired me to create a zine after meeting her last year. I’m so glad I got to say thank you in person!! 💐💐💐💐 This was fun, episode 2 soon come! 🎨👩🏿‍🎨🏙️💙💙
