Tommy Kakinuma, B.C (1908 - 1982) owls. The tallest a Key Auctions, New Brunswick purchase — beautifully (as in properly) packed for its journey across the country, the other owl purchased from a pottery group member, in Victoria, and a thrifted Kim Bruce vase— palms or fireworks? The design gives me a seasonal impression, so out it comes. I bought some museum putty— has anyone tried it? I’m thinking the owls and the pussycats, unlike the poem of such friendships, won’t go well together. My home is foremost a home, not a museum, I’ll be clear (family might disagree), yet I do feel a certain responsibility as a temporal custodian of these pieces to preserve them well.

Did I treat myself to this tiny Coalport piece? I absolutely did and thanks to Key Auctions, it arrived safe and sound and lives in my China cabinet.

I have to admit that sometimes we keep the best blooms for ourselves 🙈 Picked up this beautiful frog pin vase at @keyauctions and couldn’t resist using it with our first glad of the season! Dahlias are tangerine dream and crème de cassis.

Last week, I stumbled upon a hidden gem on Facebook Marketplace—a breathtaking vintage secretary desk that stoled my heart!

Now, the tricky part was figuring out how to bring this corner to life in a way that truly resonated with me. I craved those moody, soul-stirring colors. Luckily, inspiration struck!

And here I am now, sitting at my marvelous secretary desk, surrounded by the cozy embrace of deep greens. This little haven has become my creative sanctuary.

The best part? Finally tackling a spot in my home that had me scratching my head for ages! This transformation has breathed new life into my space.

So YAY for the magic of unexpected finds, the thrill of DIY adventures, and the beauty of infusing our homes with love and personal touches.

Project wallpaper = done!

I am so pleased with the results! It wasn’t super easy but made my reading/piano room look so much more cozy and fabulous!

I’ve been in love for ever with wall murals, well ever since @chrislovesjulia starting showcasing them! However, I just couldn’t find the right one that would fit my style and budget! Then my childhood friend @ashleyrosep shared her gorgeous room and spiked my need of having one in my home again!

And there she is!

The second I saw this gorgeous painting, I knew instantly it would fit perfectly in our bedroom! And I wasn’t wrong!

The moody beach and vintage frame were all our bedroom needed. I kept that wall bare for the last year, searching for the perfect piece. I used to always be in such a hurry to find treasures for my home, but I’ve realized that curating your home takes time. It is a slow process but such a gratifying one.

Fun fact: it was painted by a local artist from Fredericton circa 1970!
