The first time I saw the Keymoji Hello World, I already knew I didn’t want to shoot this like a normal keycap set.

The black and Matrix green colorway, frosted transparent PC, all the tiny legends… it just made sense to go darker and more industrial with this one.

Most of this carousel was shot really close, because honestly this set gets more interesting the closer you look. The matte frosted surface catches and diffuses the light really nicely, while the green underneath still pops without looking overly bright. Even the silkscreen legends held up surprisingly well in the macro shots.

It’s Cherry profile, injection-molded PC, 149 keys with Mac extras, so compatibility is pretty generous too. But for me, the main appeal is definitely the visual.

It has that old terminal / hacker / cyber feel without looking too gimmicky. Put it on a black board and the whole thing just works.

Probably one of those keycap sets that was way too fun to photograph up close.

1985 called… and I had to answer 📸🪴

Sometimes a few keycaps are all you need to make a keyboard feel completely different.

I honestly thought these keycaps would change the sound way more than this.

Keymoji Hello World is made from transparent PC, so before putting them on the Tofu65 3.0 I was kinda expecting something a little more hollow or plasticky.

Turns out… nope 😂

Paired with HMX Cthulhu, this build is still properly clacky. The Cthulhu already has that loud, crisp character, and somehow these PC caps don’t really take that away. If anything, I feel like there’s a slightly different sharpness to the top end compared to the usual ABS/PBT sets I use.

And visually, these caps just make the whole build way more interesting. That frosted transparent PC with the black and green “Hello World” theme looks completely different once the light starts hitting it.

Didn’t expect transparent PC keycaps to sound this clacky, but I’m definitely not complaining.

I’ve built this Tofu65 3.0 a few different ways already, but this one completely changed the personality of the board.

Swapped in the Keymoji Hello World set and suddenly the Tofu went from clean and minimal to something straight out of a terminal screen lol.

The black and green combo works way better on this board than I expected, especially with those frosted transparent tops. Up close, they catch the light in a really interesting way without looking too flashy.

Still keeping the Tofu pretty simple underneath, top mount, aluminum plate, no foam. I like letting the board sound like itself instead of trying to clean up every little bit of character.

Definitely a very different look from my usual builds… but I’m kinda into it.

Would you keep this setup or go back to something more minimal?

Been spending some time with the Nut65, and this setup turned out to be way more fun than I expected.

Build → Nut65 · FR4 Plate · Full Foam · Akko Creamy Yellow U1 · Durock V3 Stabs · Keymoji Graffiti PBT Dye-Sub

The U1 + full-foam combo gives this board a really fun sound. It's bright, poppy, creamy, and surprisingly full without getting too sharp.

A few things I noticed while typing:

• U1 has a brighter and more energetic clack compared to the older Creamy Yellow
• Full foam gives the sound more body and keeps everything nicely controlled
• FR4 adds a slightly softer and more forgiving typing feel
• Durock V3 stabs feel solid and consistent on the larger keys
• The overall sound is loud, lively, and really satisfying to type on

I also really like how the Keymoji Graffiti caps work with this build. The neon/cyberpunk look gives the Nut65 a completely different personality and honestly makes the whole board feel more playful.

I've been enjoying both no-foam and full-foam builds, and this one is a good reminder that there's no single "correct" way to build a keyboard. Sometimes you just have to try different combinations and see what clicks.

For this build, I was going for something fun, poppy, loud, and comfortable — and I think the Nut65 nailed it. 🔥
