Bio:
Kha’lil is spoken-word artist/rapper with Igbo roots hailing from Nijmegen in the netherlands. Drawing from a wilde range of influences both in music and in writing, he brings forth unique, vulnerable perspectives on human existence, politics, philosophy and art. On his performance the 29th of November offers a closer insight into his writing process, touching on some of his personal works and how his inspirations influence his work.

Hoe klinkt Nijmegen over 500 jaar? 💬 De komende vier jaar bevragen en verbeelden we in TASC (The Art Of Science) hoe de toekomst van taal eruitziet met verbeeldingskracht, ontmoeting en zevengeneratiedenken.

Op dinsdag 6 oktober vindt het eerste publieksprogramma De Toekomst van Taal #1 plaats bij LUX. Samen met woordkunstenaars Kha’lil (@khalil.alkenu) & Akunna (@axuakunna) en taalwetenschapper Marc van Oostendorp verkennen we maatschappelijke ontwikkelingen en veranderende leefomstandigheden in de toekomst, rondom thema’s als taaldiversiteit en meertaligheid. 🧐 Bewegen we bijvoorbeeld richting één universele taal, of juist naar kleinere taalbubbels door de gevolgen van de klimaatcrisis op onze leefomstandigheden?

Voor dit onderzoek nodigen we ook jou uit. Bij TASC is de bezoeker namelijk geen passieve toeschouwer, maar neem je actief deel via tijdreizen, inspirerende perspectiefwisselingen en interactieve werkvormen.

One of the questions asked in STEPPER; a short film about finding your place in society by breaking out of the loop of everyday life. A place where you don’t have to fit in but where you’re just allowed to exist.

We have a lot to talk about. During the first edition of ciniMMa, a platform for storytellers, we’ll screen, discuss, and share films and stories with each other at Beatwise. STEPPER is only one of the short films we’ll watch and talk about, with the people who created it.

It’s been a minute, but can we look back at one of the most unique events we did this year? 💜

The fundraiser for Sudan was amazing, it felt like the best place to express ourselves and exchange energy. With €1,204.26 raised in donations, we ended the night proud and fulfilled, surrounded by amazing people in one of the most unique places in the city, @nijmeegsjantien_they.them .

Thank you if you were there with us. We can’t wait to invite you to more events⭐️

HIPHOP IS HERITAGE 💜

Dance, music, clothing, graffiti, knowledge… I feel like we have shown @openluchtmuseum just a little of what Hiphop actually is. The community was present, exchanging and perceiving all of the disciplines that we showcased during the weekend. We loved introducing the scene to a broader audience, especially for those who didn’t know what Hiphop was really all about.

Even though we only showed a little, we all felt encouraged to give more and also do it the right way. Thank you for having us at the Openlucht Museum in Arnhem during the KIEN festival ⭐️.
