BOLD Scholar Check-In:
Khalil Peake, Anderson University

We are super proud and excited to highlight Khalil Peake, our featured BOLD Scholar from Anderson University, as he begins navigating his search for a teaching career.

At Anderson University’s recent teacher recruitment fair, Khalil’s dedication and preparation paid off immediately, as he already has three interviews lined up. Seeing his hard work translate into concrete opportunities is an incredible milestone as he prepares to step into his own classroom as a future elementary educator.

Throughout his time at Anderson University, Khalil has continually set an example of academic and campus leadership. A senior studying Elementary Education, he has consistently maintained high academic standards, earning a spot on the Dean’s List for four consecutive semesters. Beyond the classroom, Khalil has served as a Student Government Association Senator and as a multi-year counselor for the university’s Base Camp New Student Orientation, equipping incoming and transfer students with the guidance and tools needed to succeed.

Khalil’s impact extends far beyond campus through his commitment to faith, mentorship, and community service. He serves as a Worship Leader for the Youth Ministry at Redemption Church, using music and mentorship to uplift young people. Additionally, he has led worship for BCM, ministering across South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, as well as for campus chapel services at Anderson University.

Khalil beautifully exemplifies what it means to lead with a servant’s heart while maintaining a steadfast commitment to academic and professional excellence. Keep shining, Khalil—the entire BOLD Network is cheering you on as you take these exciting steps toward shaping tomorrow’s classrooms!

My name is Khalil Peake, and I am an Elementary Education major with a minor in Worship, graduating in 2027. I am from Greenville, South Carolina, and my favorite quote is, “Limit yourself to nothing.” I became a MiSTER because I wanted to become the best educator I could be when I entered the classroom. I also wanted to build meaningful connections with other MiSTERS, both within and outside of my cohort, so we could learn from one another, grow together, and support each other throughout our journeys as future educators.

A night of remembering who we are and whose we are🤍

The world will try to tell us who we should be, but our identity has already been established in Christ. We are loved, chosen, redeemed, and made new in Him. What a gift it is to worship the One who gives us a name, a purpose, and a place to belong!

Thank you @lila.katherine17 for these amazing photos!

Mark 10:9 “What therefore God has joined together, let man not separate”

I thank God everyday for these people. For Anna Kate and her genuine heart. For Emma and her joyful spirit. For Allen and his calm nature. For KeSean and his pure heart. For KP and his wisdom. And for TRC and our mission that happened to align with one another before we knew it. If 10 year old me could see me now I know she’d be kicking her feet in excitement.

I am forever grateful for every single person that God placed in my life over the past year. God knew I needed each one of you:)

And @aleigharackleyphotography did such a good job capturing the love we have for each other in these photos.

Excited for a new season of making music with these people! What started as an idea has grown into a reality we couldn’t be more grateful for!

Romans 12:1-2 ““I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

@aleigharackleyphotography is the greatest for putting up with us in these

i know it’s not summer anymore, but i just have to say that i will be forever grateful for this experience! basecamp not only gave me wonderful friendships but also helped to grow me as a person. it allowed me to embrace chaos, grow in confidence, and be unapologetically myself. i am so unbelievably thankful that the Lord opened the doors to allow me to be a part of the basecamp team these past two years. these will be memories that i cherish the rest of my life!!
