Latte art? Tired. LEGO art in the coffee shop? Wired! Especially when the LEGO art in question is as rich and filled with color and genius parts usage like this mural from Vietnamese AFOL and Masterpiece Gallery alum @khanglego , in collaboration with building partner @kyduyphong

Created for Starbucks Vietnam, the artwork was built over four months and measures 1x2 meters. The mural incorporates Vietnamese imagery into an ornate depiction of the coffeemaker's mermaid mascot.

Brilliant techniques abound, but the most galaxy-brain NPU is found in the hands. Those life-like finger tips? Patrick Star heads from the SpongeBob theme!

2025 felt like a fever dream—
a year of light, followed by waves of loss.

The video at the end captures one of those beautiful moments. It was the first time Luciana ever interacted with Zeno by herself.

Zeno gone a few weeks later.

While in much of the world, October is spent getting in the Halloween spirit, in much of Asia, the month aligns with the Mid-Autumn Festival (it fell on October 6th this year), when mooncakes and tea are enjoyed to honor ancestors.

This year @khanglego celebrates the festival with traditional cakes and an elegant turquoise and sand green tea set alongside a Vietnamese-style fish lantern. Also featured is Khang's white teapot from a few years back.

The builder photographs with such care, lending a soft glow to the tableau that makes it easy to overlook it as LEGO.

Photo 1,5,6,&7: Building 1 – Grandmother's House (Residential building)

On the first level, the small living room is decorated for Tet with a tea set, square sticky rice cake (banh chung), apricot blossoms, lucky money (red envelope - lì xì), and tangerines, as well as a pack of soda along with a tiny open kitchen. On the second level, a bedroom and bathroom feature a bed, a retro electrical table fan, a retro TV, old wooden drawers, and framed pictures. It's a very traditional family home in Hoi An.

Photo 1,4,6&7: Building 2 – Tet Shop & Hoi An Café (Commercial building)

The first level houses a Tet Shop selling holiday essentials such as candies, lanterns, toys, fireworks, sticky rice cakes, soda (soft drink), and Tet decorations. This shop is owned by uncle Tai, a kind-hearted figure who delights in telling fairy tales to children. On the second level, a welcoming Hoi An café run by Kitty serves coffee and treats, providing a cozy gathering spot for neighbors and visitors during Tet.

Photo 2,3,6&7: Building 3 – Ao Dai Boutique & Office - Architecture Studio (Commercial building)

The ground floor is a boutique owned by Huong, offering traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai dresses, jewelry, and handbags. An exterior staircase leads to the second level, which houses a compact architecture office. Here, David works on a modern retail design project while surrounded by drafting tools, a miniature building model, a computer, and cozy furniture.

Tet in Hoi An town 🎆🎆🎆
.
As night falls, the ancient town transforms into a breathtaking festival of light and life, with all lanterns illuminating the streets and reflecting the Tet atmosphere on the river. All people in the town gather to watch the dragon dance, launch floating lanterns, share food, and enjoy music, embodying the very heart of Vietnamese "Tet": a celebration of community, tradition, and renewal.

LEGO The Fauna Collection - Tiger, set 31217.

It’s such a fabulous set and Mrs H really enjoyed the build, especially the face of the tiger. Interestingly, on our recent trip to the LEGO House, we spotted a similar design in the Masterpiece Gallery by the incredibly talented @khanglego

In a lovely surprise, I opened up this month’s issue of Blocks magazine to see some familiar faces and builds! 😍 It’s a great feature, with pictures of the builds in the Lego House Masterpiece Gallery, and interviews with the builders
