Thank you all for celebrating with me! KLS3rdFloor
As I enter the third floor, here are some lessons I walked away with from my 20s :
1. God above all. You should not want to make your own plans that suit your ego, Gods plans. You should want Gods plans for you.
2. Friendship and community can literally save your life. Feed into your community and show up for in it in your capacity as much as you can. They will show up for you on days you cannot.
3. Be very selective and intentional about your counsel and who you lend your ear to, insight,advice and perspective gained from them can help your thinking. If no one can call you out and tell you when you are wrong, you are in a bad place in your life.
4. Never stop investing in your character development.
5. You cannot buy experience.
6. Money spent on life’s experiences is always money well spent.
7. Routine might be boring and might not be as exciting as spontaneity but routine brings structure and discipline.
8. Discipline over motivation. Discipline is the highest form of self love.
9. Working out is great for your mental health. It also teaches delayed gratification and builds mental fortitude.
10. There is always more.
11. Do things as you remember them. Open tabs of unfinished tasks linger in your mind and make you anxious.
12. Be courageous in pursuit of your dreams. Do it boldly without shame. Fear of what people think may be crippling but it is never worse than crippling regret.
13. A new year, new month and new week all count as a clean slate / blank canvas.
14. Be selective and intentional about things that your mind consumes. There’s always more to learn(be teachable).
15. Document your life.
16. Dreams and goals should be measurable. Having checkpoints and accolades counts as motivation to keep you going.
17. Do not only do things in life that bring you money, it is equally as important to do things that bring you Fulfilment.
