🎾 Common mistake 👉 after hitting the lob, players rush to the net too fast.
The key advice: wait and see how your lob turns out.
✅ If it’s good, wait.
✅ If it’s short, play a chiquita and go to the net

Small details that change the whole match

Too much slice in your bandeja?
That’s what we were correcting today 👇

My student was playing with excessive slice, which makes the ball slower and easier to defend. Sometimes that’s fine, but when you want to be aggressive, you need to feel the ball more and go a bit flatter (not flat, just less cut).
⠀
👉 After the correction, the ball came out faster, with more weight, and was much harder to return.
⠀
✅ Slice is great, but choose the right moment to add pressure with a flatter shot.

Fix your backhand volley!
My student was struggling with control because he was slicing only from underneath, causing the ball to float or go straight to the glass.
We fixed it by adjusting two key things:

❌ Preparing with the racket already open
❌ Slicing only from under the ball

✅ Preparing the racket flat first
✅ Creating a proper slice from top to bottom

This way, he gets better control, more direction, and the volley stays low and effective!
Try this fix in your next session!

Fixing the Chiquita 🎯
If your Chiquita is ending up in the middle, check your contact point! When you touch the ball too far in front, it’s harder to direct it properly.

✅ Adjust by making contact slightly behind your usual point.
🎯 This helps guide the ball towards the cross fence, keeping your opponents under pressure.

Try it out and let me know how it feels!

Improve your reaction time and bandeja under pressure! ⚡🔥

Start with the student hitting a controlled backhand volley to the coach. As soon as the volley lands, the coach throws up a deep lob, forcing the student to react quickly and execute a fast bandeja without time to prepare. This drill simulates real match situations where you need to adjust instantly and maintain control under pressure
