Ticket links for both shows in my bio now. Guests to be announced soon. #PeopleNeedWater

On this day three years ago, @khingzotow and myself released two albums that were made in conversation with each other, A Safe Place For Us / From the Ashes of Our Homes.

Working on the Ashes album for me was a healing process that captured so much that we’ve been living through this entire decade. Conversations in music that I rarely hear spoken on in public spaces. How our ideas of home have been shattered from Tigray to Palestine to South Seattle at the same time, to different stages of grief, and how love carries us through it all.

If you haven’t yet, it’s one worth listening to in full. And when you are done with Ashes, pop in the Khingz record A Safe Place For Us and see how the two albums connect.

I remember at the release party for these two records, Khingz talked about what it would mean to follow up with a new Abyssinian Creole album next.

In one month we are releasing that very group project.

Nostalgia For The Future. Abyssinian Creole.
