If you read TAIPEI STORY by R.F. Kuang and wanted to learn more about the Cambodian Genocide…

I got you. This is the Cambodian Genocide Reading List, Pt.2 (see pt.1 a few posts ago)

Please don’t ask AI or chat gpt for history. Instead, read or check out one of these books from your local library (if they don’t have it, request your library to obtain a copy.)

This is comprised mostly of memoirs, but a mix of a few genres, to give you a glimpse of the Cambodian Genocide and its impact on Cambodian families.

(Also I have memoirs separated into adult and child-teen genres because adult survivors of the Cambodian Genocide have a little more history and nuance included in their writing as they are older at the time of the genocide. I am not diminishing child genocide survivor accounts by any means, they are all important witnesses testimonies of the crimes against humanity.)

Have you read any of these books? If you have, which do you recommend?

And if you haven’t, is there one you would add to this list, or one that you have wanted to read?

(Music from @allthingscambodian , check out his LOFI Khmer inspired album and also see his new ebook, 100 SACRED YANTRA)

Chef Chad “The Cambodian Cowboy” had the pleasure to teach a class about fire, science, and chemistry with awesome school social worker superstar and fellow Cambodian American @chrisaput at Bancroft Middle School.
Surprised the students with smoked wings, and the teachers and staff with brisket and baby back ribs. Celebrating AANHPI History Month by collaborating with each other and help the next generation about hard work, perseverance, and entrepreneurship.
