More than skin.
My hesitation hitchhiked on my body for a year, until it hit me one day.
My work has always been about pushing boundaries.
Right from making fabrics from scratch,
Silhouettes that make one question my credibility,
Embroidery that walks on a thin line,
Ideas that spill everywhere,
It’s always been about courage.

You see, I recently discovered the skills of neuroplasticity,
And ever since , I’ve began my day blasting Riri through the speakers.
I rake my thoughts toes up, let it make it’s way through my hips and
across my chest until it reaches the top of my head and into the abyss.

Insecurities are such silly little things.
Intangible and paralyzing,
Such is life.

A monkey in silk is a monkey no less is a cutting critique of how we confuse appearance with worth — how silk, status, and spectacle are often mistaken for substance. This theme questions what remains when privilege fades and external signifiers wash away. It's about losing the figurative crown, and realizing you were never the crown to begin with — just someone trying to be seen.

There is a deliberate irony here, in that this is a fashion collection, yet through its silhouettes and surface treatments, it tries to confront the fragility of image, the illusion of titles, and the quiet need to be seen for who we truly are. Beyond the silk and the crown.
