One of their wedding photos became a painting. 🎨

I started in my studio and finished on the beach.
Honestly, the best part was watching them open it. 🌹

It’s truly something beautiful seeing love vibrate off of people who truly choose each other to do life together. 🤍

Every piece is original, signed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Art isn’t decoration. It’s what you pass down.

Cheers to remembrance and forever @imjay_duh & @young_nosa 🥂

Holiday commissions are open. DM me “PAINT” to start yours.

Please join Monica Jahan Bose’s talk about @storywithsari on Saturday, October 17 at 11 am at the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum. Her works in the museum collection will be on display and she will be sharing stories about these objects, which have been part of a decade of art and activism in Anacostia, Washington DC. Do come and show support for the Smithsonian and artwork about climate and gender!

This is a unique opportunity to see and learn about the objects from the Storytelling with Saris project that are part of the Smithsonian ACM permanent collection. Two saris, two paintings, and several woodblocks were recently acquired by the Smithsonian ACM along with the Storytelling with Saris archives. Come and see the objects and hear Monica Jahan Bose share her stories behind them. The event is free and there is free parking on site. Link in bio to register.

Discover objects that have connected the aspirations of people in Anacostia with those of a community in Bangladesh. The participatory art of Monica Jahan Bose encourages personal reflection and action, giving physical form to a shared desire for healthy communities. The hand-printed textiles she co-creates with the public archive expressions of hope, dedication, and joy. Join us for a conversation with the artist about her Anacostia-based work for the Storytelling with Saris art project.

I had the best time celebrating my sister, @ikea.damone, at a surprise birthday dinner at @limanidc ✨ Our other sister @artismy_mistress was our comedian for the night 🤣

And somehow, I found a dress in her favorite color, so clearly the stars were aligned 💫

The night was full of love. Watching my sister receive her flowers, surrounded by genuine, beautiful friends, meant so much.

Cheers to many more celebrations, a game-changing year ahead, and continued layers of joy and goodness, just like the 🥐 you are.

Love you mucho, @ikea.damone 💛

I’m just getting around to checking my notifications. You always had a smooth rhythm 🎵 about your aura. Real calm, laid back, full of energy and excitement. Ready to sing 🎤 on the spot. I remember when I told you I had an idea to put together a portfolio of black and white images and I wanted to entitle it “The Black And White Story” and you pulled up on me to check it out for yourself and we always said we would create more memories together that would keep us in our calling and smiling about it through it all because we knew we were doing what we were supposed to be doing. I remember getting called to the studio by @kb_michaelz to help with a studio recording. He didn’t tell me that you were coming to sing 🎤 but I assisted with the recording and took some great photos that you told me were favorite 🤩 You stayed true to yourself and lived life on this side to the best of your ability. Rest real easy @eddietheartist_ Love 🫶 you always 💯🙏🏾😇💪🏾😔❤️ It’s all good on the other side. I believe that to be true. Nothing but parties 🎉 going on 🎊🎊🎊
