During PA Week, I want to remind every person of something I wish I’d understood sooner.

One of the most beautiful things about life is that you can be so much more than any one version of yourself.

You can change specialties. Reinvent your career. Build a business. Pursue a creative dream. Start over at 30, 40, 50, or whenever you decide. You can love medicine deeply and still have dreams that exist completely outside of it.

Your career doesn’t have to be the entirety of who you are. It can be the foundation that gives you the freedom to discover everything else you’re capable of becoming.

You don’t have to choose between being grateful for where you are and being curious about where else you could go.

So, are we out of the woods yet?

No. Not even close.

But for the first time, I’m not in a hurry to get out.

And I hope every PA and person knows that the life you’ve worked so hard to build is allowed to keep evolving. 🤍
