📣 This month's #VigilAthlete highlight is @kiara.baugh! 🤘

This December marks 15 years in the sport for Kiara, with 1,840 jumps and counting.

Career Highlights:
☝️ Multiple Records (4 Point 64-Way Vertical Sequential World Record, 174-Way Vertical World Record, and 103-Way California Vertical Record)
🎬 Stunt work with Nitro Circus, flying a 700 lb picnic table for their Dinner for Six production
🧵 Multiple prop jumps, including an 8ft skeleton, a couch, a bicycle, and a cement-filled disco ball

🛡️ Why Vigil?
"I fly with a Vigil because the unit is incredibly robust with a 20-year service life, measures atmospheric pressure 8 times a second when active, and runs a complete self-test every time you turn it on. This powerhouse doesn't miss a beat!"

🗺️ What has Kiara been up to?
Right when she thought she'd met her skydiving goals with world records, new opportunities and the friends around her reminded her there's always something new to chase in this sport.

We're proud to call Kiara a #VigilAthlete. 💙🧡

Had a blast flying camera at @skydiveelsinore last weekend. Something I’m find fun in flying camera is that you often have to fly unique body positions to stay in slot to get the shot, so there’s a lot of intuitive reactions that have to happen in the movement. Turns out high speed knee flying above formations is tricky and fun!

Head Up Formation Camp ⭐ training for the Women’s Upright Records this fall

It was a fun couple of days of upright flying, focusing on bigway fundamentals, and getting some solid training in together during Chicks Rock weekend. Awesome flying all around!

Many thanks to everyone who came out, to @chrisdarebear for sharing your expertise, and to @skydiveelsinore for being a great host. 💜

We’re planning more sky & tunnel training days over the coming weeks. If you’re interested in joining us, send me a DM. Let’s keep building together.

Turns out a plastic skeleton is a better freeflyer than most of us. 🫠 🫠

Before any of these got thrown we had a bit of work: sharp edges taken off, handles added, some of them fitted with their own parachutes and @cypres_aad units so we could actually get them back. Kon called the whole thing « adults acting like highly professional children, » which is the most accurate job description I have ever been given.

That one unemployed friend on a Tuesday... 😝

Kidding! This is, of course, the talented #VigilAthlete @kiara.baugh finding yet another way to catch some air in style.

Bigway skydiving is sooooooo intense!! But I’m always fascinated by the formations. To me they express the process of inner to outer unification that comes through the journey. As every person faces and transcends their fear, self doubts, harsh inner critics, performance anxiety and every other form of mental shenanigans the flying gets smoother, progress is made and more elements build.

This @sdccore event was an awesome opportunity to fly with so many of my she-redder friends I’ve met across the country. This isn’t just about seeing their growth over a weekend, it’s about watching their journey for weeks, months and even years.

It’s knowing how much time they’ve already put into training in the tunnel, being on teams, showing up at camps and chipping away at the mental, emotional and physical commitment it takes to have the combination of skills and chill needed for this.

But my favourite part of this concept of unification is seeing how everyone holds different qualities I fan on and am inspired by. I sat with the energy of all the participants and felt into what special quality they’re holding that I seek to integrate in myself not just to be a better flyer but to be a more whole person. So without giving away who goes with what this was my list.

Self Trust
Steadfastness
Willpower
Passion
Certainty
Safety
Well Roundedness
Mastery
Courage
Enthusiasm
Heart
Precision
Collectedness
Work Ethic
Confidence
Transcendence

At the end of the day while we are motivated by a collective goal I am fueled by the love of this community.

Thanks so much to our Queen @stephsstrange for all you share with us and the positive container you create for our growth.
