October 13-15 CCF joins Global Artivism to host the LAC Regional Convening. Together we’re celebrating artists who use their platform to advocate for change. Over the next three days, you’ll meet our 34 Art for Change grantees.

Today’s group is recording Caribbean history before it disappears. In Bermuda, portraits, archives and elders’ testimony trace the island’s colonial past. The British Virgin Islands is getting its first interactive heritage archive, and in Sint Maarten a VR game lets players restore Indigenous history.

On St. Croix, sugar mills are being reread as sites of African diaspora knowledge. From Martinique’s 3D film on the Black figures Western art left unnamed to Guyana’s Rupununi, where elders are being filmed, to a museum in Suriname for villages lost to the Brokopondo dam, each project keeps a piece of memory alive.

Follow us #CCF100 to learn more about our grantees and their projects.

CultureCon has been on my bucket list for YEARS. And last week, I finally made it 🥹✨

This year’s theme was Museum Us and… there was so much to take in.

As a Caribbean creative and entrepreneur building my business in Saint-Martin, I couldn’t wait to experience a space like this.

So here’s my recap: what I loved, what stood out, a few practical tips if you’re planning to attend and the experiences I won’t forget.

My first CultureCon and certainly not my last. ✨

Thank you so much @imaniimani & @cultureconcollective

Thank you @kickinitvi for the ticket!!! And thank you @bykyrajay for being my guide!!

It’s 2016 and Kickin it w/ Kyra just dropped a new episode 🥹

10 years ago I posted my first video and that year changed my life forever.

This little series I created for fun is now a whole non profit organization with a larger meaning and a whole team, but when I look back on these videos, the foundation hasn’t changed.

My videos were always unapologetically V.I., no yanking, just straight vibes. Creativity showed up in the challenges, community showed up in the participation and engagement.

I remember being so excited for us to be close to 500 likes back then. Now we have over 15K followers across platforms!

I’m so grateful.

Thank you for Kickin it with me for a decade!! ❤️
