POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

THE SCHOOLS RUGBY PATHWAY IS REAL — FOR GIRLS AND BOYS. 🏉
We share plenty of stories about schoolboys taking the next step. The girls coming through our schools and clubs deserve that same spotlight.
With Australia hosting the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2029, there’s a home World Cup for the next generation to dream about. 💚💛
And Piper Simons’ journey from Stella Maris to the Wallaroos shows what’s possible.
A Manly product who grew up with seven brothers, Piper started sevens with the Manly Mermaids at 15 and also has links with Gordon Rugby.
Following a similar pathway to Faith Nathan, Sariah Paki and Madison Ashby, she earned Australia A and Youth Sevens honours in 2022–23.
At the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinbago, Piper scored a team-high EIGHT tries, including two in the gold-medal-winning final against Canada. 🥇
Her senior Australian sevens debut came in Dubai in 2024, a week earlier than planned after an injury opened the door. Australia won the tournament, and Piper went on to play seven events in her first season.
In 2026, she joined Wallaroos training while balancing her sevens commitments. She began training at scrumhalf, made her Test debut against Fijiana in Canberra and finished the Pacific Four series with three Test caps.
From school sevens and local club rugby to representing Australia in both forms of the game — that’s a journey worth celebrating.
To every girl pulling on a school jersey: keep learning, back yourself and enjoy your footy. Your ambitions belong in this game.
More schools rugby pathway stories coming in the weeks ahead.
Go well, Piper. DARE TO DREAM. 🩷

Wallabies didn’t get the result but DM10 did really well under the circumstances. Backed himself and went 100 at everything. Early on but there’s something there for sure👏🇦🇺

Absolutely shell shocked after another year of hope is crushed by the All Blacks…

First Wallabies game. First lesson in character building.

Someone get this young man a refund and a hug. Supporting Australia shouldn’t require this much emotional resilience before your first half-time snack.

Wallabies team news is in for Australia vs New Zealand in the Bledisloe Cup

Declan Meredith starts at fly-half, Ben Donaldson and Len Ikitau are out, and Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii returns to the centres. After last week’s 50–19 defeat, can Australia bounce back against the All Blacks in Sydney?

Which selection stands out to you?

Kissy’s backing the next gen of playmakers this weekend - but sounds from today’s presser like the door’s not closed of JOC, Nard and KB 👀
