Jamaican DJ and producer KickRaux @kickraux has joined forces with Haitian-Mexican singer Malaïka @malaiikaoficial for the release of their new single, ‘Déjà Vu’, a Reggae-influenced track centred on love, self-worth and recognising unhealthy relationship patterns.

The song follows the perspective of a woman who begins to notice similarities between a new partner and a past relationship. Rather than ignore the warning signs, she chooses to confront the situation, making it clear she will not accept uncertainty or mixed signals. At the same time, the lyrics leave room for hope, with the message that genuine love and commitment will be fully returned if they are sincere.

Malaïka, whose name has African origins, was raised around Jamaican culture through her father and has developed a strong connection to Reggae music. She is a regular performer at Reggae festivals, and much of the material planned for her upcoming project draws inspiration from the genre.

The collaboration also adds another international release to KickRaux’s growing catalogue. Over the years, the Jamaican music executive has worked with several major names across Dancehall, Reggae, Afrobeats and Hip-hop, including Vybz Kartel, Major Lazer, Tyga, Wizkid, Machel Montano and Chronixx.

Blending Reggae influences with contemporary production, ‘Déjà Vu’ continues KickRaux’s approach of connecting Caribbean sounds with international talent while introducing listeners to Malaïka’s storytelling and vocal style.
