I'm not sure why, but I'm guilty of never having made it to @mangal2restaurant (yet). I'm also a bit obsessed with anything @david.carter.uk does, @manteca_london and @agora.ldn in particular, so when David announced his latest project with @sertacdirik, I knew I had to get myself there, and early.

@kid_soho has to be one of the warmest dining rooms in London. Greeted by the grill as soon as you walk through the door, you're enveloped by dark brickwork from every angle. The service is friendly and knowledgeable, and already they must be well practised at talking guests through pretty much every plate on the menu.

Highlights were the bluefin tuna tartare with roasted red pepper, which absolutely sang, the stuffed courgette flower and the quail. Could happily have doubled up on all three. Sometimes sharing really is a shame.

I’m gonna be thinking about that tombik pide and hummus for a while @kid_soho

everything I’d order again:
- tombik pide
- flatbread
- hummus
- courgette flower
- borek
- içli köfte
- coban salata

I think when I go back I’d try: scallops, kid, lamb lokma

This is the hottest reservation in London and for good reason. Our absolute must orders; muhammara, walnut, beyaz peynir with the tombik pide, scallop and bean fasülye & the grilled mackerel @kid_soho

WE HAVE NO WORDS. This was unquestionably one of the best meals we’ve had this year. @kid_soho is worth all the hype and then some.

From the team behind Oma and Agora, the modern Turkish live-fire food is mind-blowingly good. From the incredible small plates and dips, to the larger grill items - we wanted to try everything!

Our highlights included the Tombik Pide with garlic and chilli, the deconstructed Muhammad with walnut, peppers & cheese (exceptional and a must order), as well as the beef dumpling. The star of the show was the Kid - 10 hour slow cooked goat with fig leaf and freekah.

We’d recommend going in a group of 3+ so you can try as much of the menu as possible. We’re already planning our next trip so we can try more of the menu!! The borek, quail, scallop and kebabs are all screaming our name.

An unbelievable new opening in Soho!

where: kid soho
standouts: absolutely everything
food: 5/5
vibe:5/5
service:5/5
verdict: once of London’s toughest reservations at the moment. service great, location incredible, amazing interior and flavourful food. Everything about this restaurant is perfect. No notes. I would recommend the mixed grill to try everything. Also would not skip out on the courgette flower. Definitely want to go back to try the kid.

A VERY good meal at @kid_soho 🐐 Although everything we tasted was delicious, the ‘Kid, Green leaf, freekeh’ (braised goat kid) is THE dish that will get me back! It’s a sharing dish and comes with a side of colourful pickled veggies 🫜🥕 and yoghurt dip. I would also add the ‘grilled greens’ as a side again (greens marinated in pomegranate molasses and grilled over fire - INCREDIBLY delicious). 👏🏻
