The @runtherut weekend is such a good time. And the 50K race? What.a.fun.race!!! Maybe 10,800ft of vert, 31 miles and fun aren’t all supposed to be in the same sentence together but it’s the best descriptor I can think of ;) The steep steeps, the flowy single track, the vibes at the aid stations (watermelon has never tasted as good 🍉 ), music from DJ @jenn.n.juice.music on the course, the dreamy mountain views, just SO MUCH JOY. It was an impromptu decision for me to enter this race and I’m so grateful I had the chance to do it. 🫶🏼🫶🏼 My time wasn’t quite what I was hoping for but I was able to try hard all day and give it my best and that’s exactly what I wanted. Truthfully these days, I don’t know how my body is going to show up being in surgical menopause so I try to focus on the gratitude component no matter how it goes. And all that aside, getting to run around and cheer during the days leading up to the 50K brought me just as much joy. 🙏💫🏃‍♀️📣 Thanks to @mikefootemt and @thenorthface_trail for a hell of a trail running weekend! Highly recommend ;)
