A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out for the inaugural Elements of Hip Hop Invitational! What an incredible day celebrating the culture, creativity, and community that make hip hop so special.

We’re grateful to everyone who came to check it out and have an amazing day with us. And of course all of the MCs, DJs, B-boys, and supporters who helped bring this vision to life. A special shoutout to Kango for creating an amazing mural that now lives on the Gigantic Brewery patio for everyone to enjoy.

The energy, talent, and positivity throughout the day exceeded all of our expectations. This was more than just an event—it was the beginning of something we plan to build for years to come.

Elements of Hip Hop Invitational is here to stay, and we’re excited to continue celebrating hip hop culture at Gigantic Brewery throughout the year and at next year’s invitational.

Thank you for being part of the first chapter. We can’t wait to do it again.

Fun show on Friday! All the performances were dope, good crowd of kind people, we raised $234 to help @frankiejaxnomad get out of ICE detention, and it’s such a gift to witness folks continuing to fuck with Open Source.

Big thanks to Jacob @sweetlove.ent for keeping the sound dialed all night! And thanks again to Duffy for hosting us again and again. Celebrating two years of Hip Hop (and synths, raves, DIY shit, tiedyes,) in the Heart of the Valley with @bensmateria_godzillajr album release show on 6/27 at Old World Deli. Grateful and excited to keep doing the thing with all of you 👨🏻‍🔬

Portland hip hop is taking over Gigantic Brewing!

On Saturday, June 13, Gigantic Brewing and Drenchtown present the first-ever Elements of Hip Hop Invitational — an all-day celebration of MCs, DJs, b-boys, graffiti, food, beer, and community.

From noon to 10pm, we’re bringing together an incredible lineup of Portland artists and performers representing multiple elements of hip hop culture.

Live Emcee performances from Dusty Fox, K.I. Design, Saige Wolley, Ogar Burl, Korey B, and Dobleon.
DJ sets from Spinitch, Ogar Burl, and DJ Pharo.
Special b-boy performance from the Portland City Rockers.

And throughout the day, legendary Portland graffiti artist Kango of the Lords Crew will be painting a live mural that will later become the label art for a future Gigantic Brewing beer release.

Food from Flavorsmyth BBQ and 808 Grinds. Beer flowing all day.

@kidesign the type of genius where you’re glad he got into the arts bc he’d probably be taking over the world with AI or dictator of a small island nation if he didn’t use his gifts for good. Real mad scientist energy.

His current creative output involves live recording his vocals directly to tape, one take. Rappers know this is a crazy flex, and it also means KI is crazy sharp on the mic in his live shows. He’s played with live bands, mastered the Elektron workflow, has crazy MPC skills and a substantial sample library.

He’s a true school west coast underground hip hop cat that could possibly only emerge from Eugene Oregon. He’s rocked shows with a crazy array of artists like Myka 9, the RZA, RAP Ferreira, Blueprint, and that’s all in the last year. Bro’s CV is biblical.

Anyone who has touched a mic in Eugene knows this guy’s name and it’s pretty sick to have him come ply his trade for us at @timeskatestore on Friday, May 22 at 8pm. Portland hitter @itsfountaine is on the lineup along with beatboxer belter dancer MC @cjthestudent and sample digger / perfect fried egg flipper @drjfeve.
