Imposter : Eckotrigger
A neon-drenched descent into emotional freefall — 80s Carpenter cool meets relentless modern synth-darkness…
English electronic duo Eckotrigger (Paul Dogra & Joel Alexander) have returned with “Imposter” — an absolute masterclass in mood, atmosphere, and sonic tension.
Oozing the effortless, neon-drenched coolness of an 80s John Carpenter action-horror film, the track pulls you straight into a mesmerizing soundscape.
Built on a foundation of sparkling, pulsing synth-keys, the production explodes into a razor-sharp, electrifying guitar solo that cuts through the darkness like a lightning strike.
Lyrically, Joel Alexander lays bare an unraveling internal landscape, wrestling with heavy emotional turbulence:
“A relapse in me / Another reckoning / And what does it mean / When people say / Things aren’t quite what they seem...”
Capturing that fragile, shifting reality where “nothing stays the same,” Dogra’s instrumental wizardry and Alexander’s haunting vocal delivery create a dark, powerful, and utterly captivating ride from start to finish…

Some clips and live pics of The Modern @themodernofficial last night at The Victoria in London. Amazing gig! They are looking and sounding better than ever and I'm praying to all the gods I don't even believe in that they do more gigs soon #themodern #modernists #livemusic #synthpop #electropop 🩷🩶🩵

Ahead of our reunion gig next Friday, the 11th September @victoriadalston, I thought I’d post a few photos from our first photoshoot as The Modern. These photos were taken just before we got signed by Mercury Records.
While we were in Bristol this summer our old manager called up and said he had some original photos and gave them to us to scan. Wow! We look young!! These were taken in 2004 by Darron Sven and assisted by the amazing Chris Clunn ( who completely by coincidence published a book about Pie and Mash Shops that featured my family❤️). #themodernband #electropop #popband #chrisclunn #photoshoot
