Closing out triathlon season with Paris, our spinal cord injury athlete!

Throughout the race, I towed Paris during the swim, pulled him through the bike, and pushed him during the run all while pulling Knox behind me.

Choosing to do hard things builds confidence, resilience, and the belief that we are capable of moving forward when something feels difficult. But even more importantly, strength becomes meaningful when we have the opportunity to use it in service of someone else.

And having Knox there with us makes these experiences even more meaningful. I hope he grows up understanding that strength isn’t simply about what you can accomplish for yourself… it’s also about what you can make possible for others.

REDEMPTION.

In another season, at 31 weeks gestation, I reached for my son through an isolate. I sat in NICU asking for permission to hold him in space blanket. His favorite tune was hummed to the rhythm of his IV pump. I watched him fight. Slowly, I grew into a new version of myself. This memory forever etched in my mind . I asked the Lord for healing with open hands for what he has.

For 6.2 miles we raced-4th race with baby #3. PR ‘d week 31 in this pregnancy on the exact day of gestation my son was born. I love when God weaves things together for us like this.

The finish line is never about the metal, time-clock, running faster, or the crowd. It’s about being fearless. It’s about inspiring the little lady behind me and my guy in-front. Forever grateful for my womb.

It’s easy to say I’d die for my family, but would you live for them? Get healthy for them? Change for them? Be more present and active for them? Those are the questions we asked ourselves & knew “dying” for them would be the easier option. Our nightly runs have created the best times. My oldest runs alongside us most of the time and occasionally needs a break on longer runs. Our youngest either naps after a long day or tries to run with us too. Both options are teaching them self discipline, hard work achieves goals, and that you can do hard things if you just TRY.

Bueno esto podía pasar, ya he estado buscando otras alternativas ya que este carrito no está diseñado para el peso que llevo ahora está en 70 kg y correr sobre piedras son cosas que no aguantan.

Here’s the truth.

It’s can be harder, makes the tasks more challenging and most the time slower but including them allows them to see so much more.

Don’t let them stick inside looking out the window of what is out there. Take them with you. Show them the world. Show them your world. Include them always!
