A haunting, a memory, a maze. Codex Unfertho is one of the best books of 2026. this ergodic text by kienne nguyen follows two rival academics and lovers as they attempt to solve a mystery hidden in an ancient text. With clues scattered throughout, the readers follows along through the maze to solve the mystery at the center. This may be my top book of 2026. I love ergodic books and this one absolutely blew my mind. Less mind-numbing than House of Leaves, I devoured this book. Now, I went in knowing this book was already my thing. Rival academics who are lovers traversing ancient occult knowledge? Sign me up. Ace main character? Even better. Asir and Sol are some of the most dynamic characters I have ever read- and I mean that quite literally. Their words and thoughts move throughout the page. Nguyen clearly understands both what makes a character engaging and what makes an ergodic text interesting and not just tedious to read. The physical structure of the text so neatly mirrors Sol's journey through "the maze" - as it were - that I felt like I was right there with him. This is a book I will have to re-read. I think I understood most of it, however, as the back of the book implies, this is a story you have to tear apart at it seams to fully grasp. There are at least three different narrators, once commentator, and multiple puzzles I know I did not solve. I sincerely hope this book gets as much attention as house of leaves because my goodness it deserves all the praise. *edit. First name is Kienn. I added an E by mistake. #codexunfertho #bookreviews #bookreview #queerlit

Apparently Instagram is giving @kiennwrites some trouble on release day so let me boost Late Night Pho with the Vampire!! Thank you @booktique.ca for shipping my order so I’d get it on release day! After reading and LOVING Codex Unfertho last month, I was so excited that I’d be getting a new release so soon. I have already read half of this book. It’s a flip book split into two POVs. I’m very excited to read the second part! Check out Kienn’s books today.

👻Now in stock🎃 for October 2026! Swipe to see ALL of them! Interested in books in season? Watch out for the little ghosts lurking between the covers 👀 In the middle of the graphic is the title text "NOW IN STOCK" in special font designed by Rojal Arts, who also designed our logo (a combination of a stack of books and "book" in Arabic and traditional Chinese). Text below reads "OCTOBER 2026". Next to it is an illustration of a little ghost.
