Finally posting this one up after it being held up… this was a project I did which acted as a commentary on the definition of fashion in an increasingly volatile and dystopian world. Off the back of a global pandemic, and the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict, deforestation and non-renewable resource consumption, with both short-term and long-term safety an ever present concern and discussion, how is the notion of luxury needing to adjust accordingly?

This shoot was done hypothetically for luxury fashion around 6 weeks ago in an attempt to showcase this concept that in a dystopian world, the only true luxuries are safety and warmth.

Opting out luxury tailoring, accessories and environments for highly layered military wear and bleak, utilitarian symbols of safety (such as screws between the fingers as a makeshift knuckleduster, and rollout camping equipment) this shoot paints a bleak future for ‘luxury lifestyle.’

A personal favourite is the desperate prayer photo, subbing out traditional rosary beads for a steel chain.

Thanks to the brother @kieranwxbb for his help and willingness to come out and help me in a massive way on short notice, so much love…

P.S Took a while to share this one, as it was a major university project, and therefore I was hesitant to release it until it had been reviewed and results released…

This was a super fun commission! I love doing these fireteams, being able to bring a part of the community to life. And I got to draw a warlock, which is always of the highest pleasure 🙂
✨
Thank you @kieranwxbb for the opportunity and trusting me to take care of this!
