April = the month it all came together. 🏁
Thanks to my coach @knoxvilleendurance

Everyone talks about the miles but not enough people talk about what actually gets you to the start line READY.

The peak. The taper. The mental battle in between.

This phase of marathon training?
It’s not about doing more it’s about doing it right.

You’re not just building fitness anymore you’re learning how to use it.

We cut volume not discipline
We keep intensity but with intention
We trade fatigue for freshness

That “taper madness” feeling?
The restlessness, the doubt, the random aches?

That’s not you losing fitness that’s your body absorbing everything you’ve worked for.

This is where runners either panic or level up.

So if you’re in this phase right now, hear this:
The work is already in the bank.

Your job now isn’t to grind harder
it’s to trust yourself enough to pull back.

→ Sit when you can
→ Rest without guilt
→ Run with intention, not emotion

Because race day isn’t about who trained the hardest…
it’s about who shows up the most ready.

Ran my first 5K in a long time this weekend… and walked away with 🥇 in my age group + 10th overall

But honestly, the real win?
Running side by side with one of my friends, Keira, who paced me, pushed me, and made every mile feel strong 🤍

And getting to share the course with an Olympian like @karagoucher … surreal doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Moments like this remind me why I love this sport: community, competition, and a little bit of magic on race day

Back to marathon training… but we might have to sprinkle in more 5Ks
