The internet has figured out that an angry person is an engaged person. And engagement is money. 🤦🏾‍♂️

The more a piece of content pisses you off, the more likely you are to comment, argue, share it, and come back for more. Before you know it, you're spending hours of your life emotionally invested in people and conversations that add absolutely nothing to your life. 😒

And the dangerous part is that constant outrage can start to feel like being informed. You can convince yourself you're just staying aware, standing up for what you believe in, or holding people accountable, while slowly becoming a more bitter, reactive version of yourself. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Not everything deserves your attention. Not every disagreement is a threat. And not every fight you could win is worth having. ✍🏽

Pay attention to what you're feeding your mind. Eventually, it starts feeding your worldview. 👀

Different letters. Shared purpose. Brotherhood beyond boundaries. 🤝🏾🖤💛

There’s something powerful about Black men coming together in spaces where faith, mental health, healing, and community intersect.

Grateful for the opportunity to connect with Kier Gaines and my Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity brother, Dr. Okey Enyia, at today’s LiveWell event at First Baptist Church of Glenarden.

Kier’s book, It All Starts When You Do, reminds us that healing requires more than acknowledging our struggles. It requires the courage to confront ourselves and do the work.

Dr. Enyia continues that commitment to wellness through his leadership of the John Henry Institute, advocating for Black men’s health, equity, and systemic change.

An Omega and two Alphas, united by something far greater than our fraternity affiliations: a commitment to the well-being of our communities.

As someone who believes deeply in healing through movement, I’m reminded that wellness extends beyond physical fitness. It’s emotional. It’s spiritual. It’s relational. And it’s rooted in the communities we build.

We cannot lead, serve, or pour into others without being intentional about our own healing.

Brotherhood. Faith. Healing. Purpose.

This is the work. 🙏🏾❤️

From “I want to write a book” to New York Times bestselling author. A full circle moment. 🙌🏾📚

A few years ago, @kiergaines shared with me that he wanted to write his own book and that he admired my trajectory.

Today, I get to celebrate him reaching that milestone.

Kier, I am proud of you, brother. Having gotten to know you over the past several years, it means so much to invest in your work, support your vision, and see that dream become a reality.

His book, “It All Starts When You Do: How to Do the Real Work of Self-Healing,” invites us to understand ourselves, confront difficult truths, and take meaningful steps toward healing.

For me, this connects to something deeply personal: Black men’s health and wellbeing.

We deserve space to name what hurts. To ask for help. To experience joy. To grow.

We are worthy of care even when we are not producing, providing, or holding everything together.

Seeing a Black man help lead this conversation matters. It can help other men find the words for what they carry and take a step toward getting support.

That belief is part of why I founded the John Henry Institute. Emotional wellbeing, access to care, trusted relationships, and opportunities to thrive all belong in the conversation about Black men’s health.

Supporting one another’s voices and visions helps us build that future.

Congratulations, Kier. Grateful to celebrate this chapter with you and excited for the people your work will reach. ✊🏾

I recently had the opportunity to give back at the Mental Wealth Expo in New Jersey. I met so many incredible individuals in the mental health space and abroad.

Well done event by Charlamagne tha God. Super organized and it allowed the audience to leave with so many take aways. As folks always say, mental health ain’t sexy so salute to anyone who can bring thousands together to learn about and discuss the topic.

My favorite part of the Expo was being able to support the individuals in crises who needed support. We all need one another and I was more than happy to be there for participants who sought comfort in the midst of their active challenges. Brave of them to share their stories with a stranger. Hope they keep striving.

Parenthood has a way of bringing your own childhood, insecurities, and unresolved emotions right back to the surface. 😮‍💨

You can love your children more than anything in the world and still feel overwhelmed, triggered, and unsure whether you're doing a good job. Those feelings don't make you a bad parent. They make you human. 🤷🏾‍♂️

And maybe the goal isn't to have the perfect response every time your child struggles. Maybe it's to become someone they feel safe enough to bring their struggles to, without feeling judged, dismissed, or immediately told how they should feel. 🙏🏾

Because your child won't remember every piece of advice you gave them. But the way they felt being vulnerable with you? That can stay with them for a lifetime. You don't have to be a perfect parent. You have to be willing to listen, learn, and repair. 💯

What a week! 💜 Amanda Yarnell, director of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s Creator Program, visited my behavioral health psychedelic research lab in Manhattan.

Then we headed to the WIN Summit together.

I’m so proud of Amanda and her Harvard team for being one of this year’s Workplace Innovation Now (WIN) Challenge winners!

Their work will help creators drive awareness and action on women’s health issues like perimenopause and menopause.

Highlights from the summit: ✨ Pew Research data on the issues that keep women out of the workplace ✨ Six-time Olympian Elana Meyers Taylor on caregiving, motherhood and the caregivers who share her gold ✨ Catching up with fellow TIME100 Creator Dr. Mary Claire Haver, a force in the menopause community.

As an advisory board member and creator with the program, I’ve seen how evidence-based health content from health professionals reaches people where they are.

Grateful this work keeps reaching millions.

Each year as we prepare for @goodsoilforum , we ask one question: what do entrepreneurs across this country actually need right now?

Then we go find the people who can answer it.

Last week, close to 1,200 of us got the answer.

Programming our stage isn’t about hot topics. It’s about intentional connection. From the first word spoken on that stage to the last sound heard on the way out the door, it’s one story, and every person in the room is part of it.

There’s an Ethiopian proverb: “When spiders unite, they can tie up a lion.”

That’s Good Soil.

Speakers. Founders. Partners. Our team. Every one of us carrying a thread. Alone, a thread breaks. Woven together, it holds what once felt too big for us.

Economic growth was the goal. Generational change is the assignment.
