Rwanda → Nigeria 🇷🇼🇳🇬

Leaving Rwanda with my bag, a camera roll full of memories, and a little more of Africa to carry with me. ❤️

Kigali was brief, but it gave me enough to know I’d be back.

Then it was time to head to the airport and make my way home.

I always find the journey home interesting.

You’re excited to be back, but there’s also that little feeling of, “Wait… it’s over already?” 🥹

But this time, I had people waiting for me.

My mini-me.
My family.
My people.
My community.

And honestly, I was ready for them. ❤️

After all the new places, new faces and new experiences, there was something comforting about returning to what was familiar.

And then I landed.

Nigeria. 🇳🇬

Home.

Back to my people, my routines, and the beautiful, familiar chaos I had temporarily stepped away from.

Travel is beautiful, but coming home has its own kind of joy.

Rwanda, until next time. 🇷🇼❤️

Nigeria, I’m glad to be home.

#Kigali, hi. 🇷🇼❤️

After Nairobi, I headed to Kigali.

I had places I wanted to see, food I wanted to try, and a little itinerary in my head.

Unfortunately, my body had other plans. 🥹

After the early-morning flight, I got to Precious’ place and slept through most of the day.

Eventually, we headed out.

We explored the Car Free Zone, walked around, and I picked up a little bangle from one of the street stores.

Then we headed to Biryogo in Nyamirambo for street food — brochettes, N’yama, ubugali, meat soup, and isosi.

But PiliPili?

That was my favorite part. 😍

The atmosphere, the music, the energy… I had such a good time.

I had hoped to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Kigali Convention Centre, King’s Palace Museum, Lake Kivu, and a few other places.

Did I get to them?

No. Sleep won. 😂

But that just means I have more reasons to return.

There is still so much of Rwanda I want to experience — its history, culture, and landscapes.

So, Kigali, this wasn’t goodbye.

I’ll be back. ❤️🇷🇼

And then there was @Kihonah

We met at university in 2018, back when we were both involved in modelling. Eight years later, she was hosting me in Kigali. Our paths have continued to cross over the years, including in the development space.

Thank you, Precious, for opening your home to me and making my stay so comfortable. ❤️

She’s also a content creator and professional video editor, so if you’re in Kigali and need one, she’s your plug. 👍

And if a great opportunity in programs, partnerships, or operations crosses your path in Nairobi, Kigali, or elsewhere across Africa and the diaspora, you know where to find me. 🤗

Until next time, Rwanda. 🇷🇼❤️
