Massive thanks to everyone who came out to the launch of Full Auto: Vancouver SkyTrain Graffiti, 2001–2007 — the event exceeded all expectations! A special thanks goes to @movingparts.ca for organizing, @alteriordesign for hosting, and @pacificspirit and @rellyrels for the music. @alteriordesign sold out of the book before the end of the night and the few remaining t-shirts are available now through their physical shop and online. For those who have yet to secure a copy, @movingparts.ca has a limited quantity of books left (act fast as they will definitely sell out) and will have a small stock of t-shirts soon. FULL AUTO: VANCOUVER SKYTRAIN GRAFFITI, 2001–2007

Opened in 1986, Vancouver’s SkyTrain was a futuristic experiment in mass transit: clean, quiet, elevated, and fully automated. Full Auto: Vancouver SkyTrain Graffiti, 2001–2007 documents how this system became a sustained and coveted target for graffiti writers during the first decade of the new millennium. Featuring more than 120 rare and previously unpublished photographs, the book traces the evolution of transit painting in Vancouver, foregrounding both local innovators and the significant influence of visiting writers from Germany, Australia, Italy, and Denmark. Textual contributions from key figures of the era – including Samo (@curbazoid of @verytopsecret), Idea, Kiff, Payes, Pubes (of @allkrazedminds), Main2, Mark4 (@saw_nasty_raw), Sancho, Kunt (@texastwosippin), Rels (@rellyrels / @therelsgallery), Ese, and Skid – provide firsthand context and narration. The volume also includes a foreword by Fento (of @verytopsecret), an interlude by Cecilia Terenzoni (@ceciliaterence), and an afterword by Matthew Zaborniak. Together, these materials form a comprehensive record of a formative period in Vancouver’s graffiti history – one that has largely remained unseen until now.

2 years in the making, our second edition is finally here. Quilo Praia da Saudade is an issue solely focused on the many different facets of Saudade itself, seeped with nostalgia, yearning, memory and loss. After the success of our first edition, what was supposed to be a single edition bookish magazine highlighting the best documentary photographers and writers in Brazil turned out to be a series of magazines exploring the cultural and visual wealth of Brazil. We took a bit of time, more than 2 years to be exact, to create Quilo Nº2 with the help of some amazing people, and we took our time to make sure it was right. As an independent magazine we are slow, but hopefully this was worth the wait. We are very proud to focus on a quintessential Brazilian word so hard to describe but so universally understood.

Quilo N2 Praia da Saudade is finally out. After 2 years in the making the follow up to Quilo N1 is here. Our second edition is a meditation on Saudade itself. Through photographs, short stories, fragments each work on these pages speak directly or obliquely towards this feeling.

Created by @micotoledo and @casemirovitor this 336 beast is not only a love letter to the past, nor merely a wistful glance to what was left behind l, rather it is a deep mediation on Saudade itself. Design by the amazing Clube Nacional and @kijeux
