Other People's Art - August 2026 (2026)
Between True To Life and the Ottawa Street Photography Society, last Saturday was a busy one for photography in Ottawa.

@true_to_life_ottawa photographers Rebecca and James took the plunge into film photography! And they did it while nailing focus, exposure, composition and good subjects! Check out Rebecca's portraits and Dow's Lake shot! Check out James's urban landscape! AMAZING WORK, GANG! Kelly busted out her Hassy 500 and I handed over my precious F3, so the students were learning on the Rolls and Beamer of the camera world. Not too shabby :D

After that it was off to the vernissage for @ottawastreetphotosociety's first show. This syndicate is like a who's who of analog centretown badasses. Doing the show outside at Bank and Frank on a shipping container was the chef's kiss.

That's Ottawa for ya.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Vernissage on Saturday! It was great to chat with all of you!

We also had some OSPS stickers to give away, there might be more kicking about if you run into any of our members!

The exhibition is still up until the end of the month so swing by and check it out at the Uncommon Space at Bank St and Frank St, on the back sides of the Yellow Shipping container!

Thank you again to @uncommon_ottawa and @centretownottawa for letting us use the space to put this on!!

The Ottawa Street Photography Society invites you to our first exhibition. We’re having a Vernissage today (Sat, Aug 22) from 3:30pm - 5:30pm!

Our fourth exhibitor spotlight is for @kikeonline

“Enrique Flores is a multidisciplinary artist, musician, metalhead, and jazz lover. During the day, he works as a designer and software developer. He fell into street photography three years ago, a natural step as commutes to work turned into wanders through the streets of Ottawa.

He has found that carrying a camera changes how you see the world. It sharpens the eye for beauty, strangeness, humour, tenderness, and the surreal. Moments that happen as a city moves through its day, like a gesture caught in motion or strangers sharing a frame without knowing it.

This practice has given him what feels like a superpower: visual curiosity.

Ottawa is full of these moments if you take the time to notice. This collection invites you to slow down and look again, to find the strange, the funny, and the tender in the everyday rhythm of the street.”

Location: Street Seats at Bank and Frank in @centretownottawa behind the shipping container

Dates - Tuesday, August 18th to Monday, August 31st
