Today hit me in a way I wasn’t ready for.
I lost my friend Charles… on Thanksgiving of all days.

Just last week he was photographing RJ, talking and laughing like always. I told myself, “Man, next time I’m getting a picture with him.” Too many brothers I know have passed prematurely, and I wanted that moment — but I slipped, got busy, and forgot. And that’s a reminder I’ll carry: don’t miss the small moments. They matter.

Ivan introduced us years ago, and Charles became family fast. I watched him elevate in his gift — shooting our family Christmas photos every year, showing up whenever we called, always giving his best. A talented creative, but an even better human being.

My heart is with his family, his friends, and everyone who loved him… especially his brothers Chris and LJ, two brothers I know personally and respect.

Rest easy, Charles.
Thank you for the memories, the laughs, the art, and the love you put into your work.
You will be missed. 🕊️❤️ #RestInPeace #GoneTooSoon #HonorHisLegacy #ThankfulForHisLife #CherishEveryMoment

SOMETHING’S GOTTA GIVE 💔
A new visual & message on men’s mental health — inspired by the untimely deaths of Kyren Lacy and Arlana Miller.
Too many are fighting battles no one sees.
This one’s for them — and for those still fighting to stay.

On this day 6 years ago at 10pm Maya and I left Los Angeles. It was the worst period of my life, but I learned many life lessons that made me a better man and father. In the 6 years, which feels like a lifetime, we are now living our best life. I left LA with $60 dollars in my pocket with my reputation and businesses all in free fall. What it took a decade to build was worth less than nothing. As the train was leaving the station I was crying uncontrollable tears. I knew I had saved her life, and mine. I couldn’t leave her behind. We will have a great dinner tonight with the full moon to give thanks for our intuition, tenacity and good fortune. Thank you Mario, Oak, Damon, Clayton, Kikala, Nimai, Pablo, Sophia, Lucy, Michael, Mom, and Kym for all your love and support. I owe you all and I will never forget your kindness, patience and understanding. We can forgive, but never forget.

Shout out to @brandibharristv for having us on her amazing show @thelove225show She’s a Jag for life @southernu_br Very special shout to my family and title sponsors @kristenbowens and @kennedi.owens9 of @phunkoffdeodorant and the lil bro @fredobang for sponsoring books for the event. You have no idea how much I appreciate you! Nine hundred and six (906) people walked through the door @lasmbr on March 3rd and because of my title sponsorships I was able to give over 125 books away FREE! @phunkoffdeodorant also provided samples of their amazing whole body deodorant to the first 100 guests! Thank you so much 🙏🏽💪🏽❤️ “Reading and Rhythm with Tha Hip Hop Doc” will be traveling to St Landry parish soon continuing to stress the importance of reading to, reading with, and reading in front of our children. We are their first teachers. If a person can’t read their chances of having poor health outcome, being incarcerated, and/or living in poverty is significantly increased! Read to your kids, let them read to you, read in front of them, and read together! Invest that time into them and it will come back positively in ways you could never imagined! #rjdidit #thankyou #phunkoffdeodorant #fredobang #lasm #readtoyourkids #readwithyourkids #love #family #thankyou #thankyoubatonrouge #readingandrhythmwiththahiphopdoc

Only 57% of adults in the United States have proficient literacy skills, and nearly 32 million adults are functionally illiterate. This means that they cannot read above a basic level or complete tasks such as filling out a job application or interpreting a simple set of instructions. Even more alarming is that these numbers have not improved in decades. Parents, It is very important to start reading to your children as early as possible! You are the first teachers they will ever have! Join us tomorrow @lasmbr for Free First Sundays! Reading and Rhythm with Tha Hip Hop Doc! Shout out to LPB for allowing us to share our book with their audience during Black History Month! See you tomorrow! #rjdidit #literacy #read #reading #lasmbr #lpb

I was blessed to have two blood brothers but God has also blessed me with many that may not share the same blood line… but we are connected. Couldn’t get all of them in the video but you all know who you are. Love you guys. Take care of all your pillars of wellness (mental, spiritual, physical, financial, intellectual, emotional, social, vocational, and environmental) and be intentional about your self care and mental health. I’ll be sharing some concepts all week about Black Men’s Health in preparation for my speech @michstnursing later this week. While preparing, it allowed me time to reflect on how short life is and how we have to be more focused on not just or lifespan but our health span. Let’s stay locked in, prayed up, and when you can take some time for yourself to decompress and refocus. Appreciate all of you, peace and blessings, Whit aka H2D, aka husband, dad, your Brother. #brothers #pillarsofwellness #family #selfcare #beintentional #onelove Voice over by @trellthetrainer @mageelawfirm @winstondecuir @theultimatewellnessgroup @thedopegenius @crachel39 @1leangreen @doc_ggg1906 @heartsenseorg @scoontee @drronandrews @frankalex90 @dwill_25 @cliffordwilbert @griffinvizion @griffpixonline @crossrichard5 @derekbartie @keithabeauchamp @coachjross @samrossofficial @the_lhill @t_moton @hermanbrister @bman2md @footdoc1914 @bubbam12 @jpbridge @krob205 @adamdollars @collistemple @raymondajetson @hughesconsults @_tha_voice @callmema3stro @fisherari
