New look. Same rock ’n’ roll attitude. Bigger vision. 🤘

After more than 20 years in the music industry, I’m entering a new chapter with Raquel Figlo Public Relations.

I’ve spent my career working with artists, building media relationships, and securing press coverage that goes beyond likes and streams. And while the industry continues to evolve, one thing hasn’t changed: my passion for helping artists get heard.
👊
This year, I published my book, No One Is Covering You., relaunched my agency website, and expanded my services to include one-on-one PR consultations for artists who need direction before investing in a full publicity campaign.

I’m still doing what I love—music publicity, media strategy, and working with rock and metal artists. But I’m also putting more emphasis on sharing what I’ve learned over the past two decades.
🤘
Because great music deserves more than just another social media post. It deserves a strategy.

Whether you’re ready for PR or just figuring out your next move, I’m here to help.

Great to see @markzavon at SIR rehearsing with @40cyclehum last week before their Saturday show at Hit Parade! Mark and I played in the University of Nebraska at Omaha big band under the late great Dr. Steve Raybine! It's been fun navigating our music careers. His in LA and mine in Nashville! He has played in @killdevilhillmusic for a long time! Thank you Mark! #grateful #music #la #nashville #musician

Going to NAMM for the past two years is as much about meeting nice people and hanging out with guitar players as it is in selling copies of Tonechaser.

Yes, don’t get me wrong, selling books is cool. It feels amazing to put your heart and soul into something and see it come to life and have it become a part of other people’s lives.

I am blown away when NAMM goers at the show would come up to the booth and tell me they already had a copy of the book and how much they liked it and stuff.

I am touched by that. I really am.

A lot of really great people and talented artists stopped by the booth I shared with Mahaffay Amplifiers and J. Rockett Audio—guys would just plug into Tris Mahaffay’s rig and just blaze. Here are some shots of the week in Anaheim:

Mark Zavon is the guitarist in Kill Devil Hill. He was alsovin a band called 40 Cycle Hum; monster shredder.

Blake Hastings is in a band called Hipnostic. They have a new and amazing album out called “An Elaborate Scheme”. Blake is a really interesting guitar who comes more from a melodic David Gilmour style. Great songwriter.

Michael Lee Firkins is an amazing guitar player. He can shred but also has a mastery of bluegrass, country, blues and jazz—and he does an insane style of hybrid picking. Incredibly cool guy.

Kurt James was a shredder from way back. Played in Steeler, Driver (with Rudy Sarzo, Tommy Aldridge). I hung out with Kurt was back in the day when I lived on Weepah Way. He has an insane collection of vintage gear: guitars, amps, pickups, pedals, everything.

Check out my Facebook for a deeper dive into my interaction with the talented Matthew Mills, as well—a great week all around. Thanks, everyone. — Steve
