toronto’s scene needs some love man shoutout casper tng 💛

casper tng, or casper the neighborhood ghost, is one of the most energetic street rappers in toronto’s underground right now. he just dropped his latest project “draft day” and it has some of the most vivid storytelling in the ug right now

tracks like “trap 4 a year ii” are a perfect blend of talking about his upbringing in toronto while also giving a really solid melodic rap performance

what really sets casper apart from others in the 6’s underground is his ability to switch up melodic flows on a dime. one example of his ability to do so comes from another “draft day” track in “d*e 2 young”

here we get to see casper bounce off frequent collaborator 100bandplan in what i think is one of the cleanest collaborations from the two. they are so in sync with each other and able to pick up each other’s cadences so easily on this track

in 2025, casper really saw a mainstream breakout with his incredibly catchy hit “the market.” this track’s infectious reggaeton inspired drums along with the flowing hooks makes this an ultimate dance song from both casper and 100bandplan

the song was only leveled up when a boogie wit da hoodie hopped on the remix for “draft day.” this addition felt absolutely seamless when i heard it and it’s one of my favorite features from him ever

casper tng is one of toronto’s most electric storytellers and i can’t wait to see what he does next. what do y’all think? are y’all a fan of “the market remix” or the original? are y’all tapped in with toronto’s underground scene? lmk below <3

TOO MUCH ON LEAN [MV] Out Now 🔊🎥

In the old kingdom of Ajaxia, KILLEMKEY wasn’t a rapper, he was the last apprentice of the Lean Alchemists, and his master tasked him with brewing a potion so potent it had been banned by the elders — the legendary Drank. To make it, he had to leave his tower and venture into the Whispering Woods at midnight to collect three cursed ingredients: moon-melted ice from the Sprite Springs that never froze, a single purple petal from the Wockhardt Flower that only bloomed when no one was looking, and a sigh captured in a styrofoam chalice from a heartbroken giant. The forest tried to trick him the whole way, playing his own unfinished melodies backwards to make him turn back, but he kept walking because the recipe said the brew would only work if made by someone who was already heavy-hearted.

When he finally returned to his cauldron, he realized the final ingredient wasn’t something he could find, but something he had to give. The ancient scroll said “pour thyself in.” So KILLEMKEY poured in his sleepless nights, his failed spells, his loneliness, and his one perfect memory of feeling invincible. As soon as it hit the liquid, the potion began to glow a deep, swirling violet and started to sing on its own, a slow, slurred hum that sounded exactly like “spent too much on this lean for me to stop it now.” He tried to stop the brewing, scared of its power, but the cauldron overflowed and the song spilled out across the kingdom in a purple mist, and everyone who breathed it suddenly understood exactly how he felt.

By morning the potion was gone, evaporated into the air, but the song remained, echoing in every tavern and alleyway. KILLEMKEY never managed to brew it again because the scroll crumbled to dust after one use, and the Sprite Springs dried up. The elders say that on certain nights when the moon is low and red, if you listen closely near his old tower, you can still hear the cauldron bubbling and KILLEMKEY whispering the recipe to himself, trying to remember how much of himself he poured in to get it just right.
