For the pop-up we have produced a capsule of limited collaboration items which will be curated alongside a selection of brands from Australia and Asia. 🔹 Last week, we held our first round of New Wave events all over the state – from Wollongong, Sydney, Newcastle and Bathurst to Kiama, Western Sydney, Wagga Wagga & online. With a focus on DIY recording & releasing, we were able to connect artists, managers, indie labels, collectives and music lovers to the importance of DIY ethos in music – whether through alternative ways of releasing, building your own home recording setup, navigating a studio space with confidence or finding your community. Our goal from the jump was to create a transparent viewpoint of the recording & releasing process – one that allows the art to be most informed by the artist; uncompromised and untainted. We hope you were able to leave our sessions empowered and inspired to record & release on your own terms. A full recap of each session is coming soon. This event is about exactly that. Join us at @aceparramatta and hear from Western Sydney artist @datuizm & @scum.noise on how they’ve built community on their own terms - and what that’s meant for their music and freedom as artists. Then, attend a hands-on workshop led by designer & screen-printer Kels Tran (@killjoysyd), where you will learn how to burn your own CDs.
