It’s been a decade already? 2016 what a ride you were! @hardwell & @amknaup you were my extended family! Team Hardwell it was an absolute honor to work alongside you. Team @ushuaiaibiza / @leslee_tatman @romain_pissenem @yannpissenem we ruled #ibiza that year!

I’ve been asking myself lately.. What have i accomplished in this life? Who am I, what am I and looking back at these memories. It’s clear to me that I lived one of the best lives any human could have ever asked for.

2016 – a breakthrough year for my career as Tom Swoon. Voted #46 DJ in the world just 2 months before, my touring calendar filled every gap possible, resulting in 100 shows done in just 365 days, all over the globe. That was my pinch-me moment. I was sharing the stage and was supported by the biggest names in the game...

But it’s a bittersweet reminiscence. Outside of social media, it was a year of pressure, anxiety, restlessness, exhaustion, loneliness, burnout, and massively developed addiction. I have been letting many people down. Back then, the fear of losing the dream I was living was bigger than everything else. If only I could come back to 2016 and be able to say only one word to my younger self, it would be “STOP!”... and hope that this 23-year-old Dorian would just listen, go to rehab and therapy, fix the fucked-up head, and regain full health before going back on stage, on his own terms and at his own pace. Maybe then 2017 wouldn’t be as tragic as it was...

If something here sounds even remotely familiar to you or someone you know – don’t ignore it. No matter what everybody tells you – if you feel like you need a break, take a fuckin break. A proper one. Address all the issues. Come back stronger. Come back clean.
