POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Her cup is filling.
@braidingwithtongue called us all to the waters.
Her words flowing,
activate a release of the oceans within me.
Through time and time again, it has always
been the women gathering by the water.
@kimmerywrites finds an old poem she had forgotten
but is still very relevant
"We are all just like our mothers & by that I hope you know
I mean the Earth".
Every cell in my body agrees and lights on fire like the burning Everglades to my West.
I've been crying for weeks and the King Tide just flooded Hollywood Beach to my East.
I've been so emotional, it feels almost hormonal.
Or maybe I'm just one more feral female about to snap at these pedos and rapist weirdos.
About to join the rebellion of women warriors because where have all the cowboys gone?
Or maybe it's because I'm in my "fourth trimester" as @nontoxnina calls it.
My book baby has birthed
and all the words
I was holding on to for years are now out of me and free
The placenta is pouring in the aftermath of a manifested manuscript.
@videothepoet says "I love you and I meant I will hold our sins in my prayer".
I tell her I will help lift this prayer for the world, for love.
I wonder if God is keeping tally.
I think back to @kimberly.wroteit 's warning that "even God snaps her fingers and makes the earth shake".
A month later, my motherland shook
7.4 magnitude
memories and moments frozen in time
buried alive.
Like in every bible story
our people ascended from the fall.
Los berracos no se rinden!
When Venus whispered in @acupajo's ear and said
"Where are you in all of this, dear?"
I realized that after years
of despair, depression, analysis paralysis, loneliness,
I had not only survived
I had alchemized!
As @jbone says "our view is twenty-twenty, big hearts, tough minds"
@arianatheauthor asks "Who pays to program your truth?"
and this line lingers in my mind
like every Matrix movie
I suddenly have a craving
to give my people flowers and words
because @tara_ohcollective taught me to not be afraid to say "When you die, I will miss you."
Another scary thing
I will be facing,
my newest trend.
This is what happens when all your friends are brave...

Dear @wordslikecyanide

I’ve been pulling out the wiring looking for ways to put our work I conversation with each other’s, and here you and @isabellecorreawrites are already doing it. I’m so grateful. I had to grab it on my way through and put it here.

I love the conspiratorial nature of your writing. I love how it feels like we are girls at a big sleepover spilling our souls. I love Lorde’s work because all day long I see us stepping into her words.

I think maybe Lorde wrote us modern feminists into existence, and we are just taking it one step further. I see your audience step into your work in much the same way. Women becoming more powerful, more in love with themselves, more hopeful, more brave — because you are such a catalyst.

You’ve got to tell me more about you and Lorde. You’ve got to tell me if you’d know about Pat Parker and the way Audre Lorde’s loved ones saw her.

I hope you know how we all see you. Like you fell from the stars and brought all the constellations with you.

Don’t be long,
@poet.s.souther

this conversation with @wordslikecyanide is one that grows into a wave of inspiration and love the longer you listen.

there are no words to describe the pleasure it was to welcome Kimberly onto The Forward Movement Podcast. betond her story of lived experience being inspirational to say the least, this woman has so much love and gratitude to share with this world, it’s a diservice not to recieve her.

the prayer is for every soul who listens to this conversation to leave with a deeper understanding of how their authentic expression, and emotional world that moves through them, is the greatest contribution to this world.

Here are the final winners from our last six-word short story contest! These are incredibly emotionally impactful, and they, indeed, tell a story just like Hemingway did with his original.

Please take a few moments to look at them, and let us know, which one out of these is your favorite?!

Thank you so much to everyone who participated, both of those who posted their short stories and those who voted.

As always, I’m blown away by how a few words really can capture so much depth.

Also, thank you to @cosmosofwriters for partnering with me 🤍.
