i can’t believe i never posted about this. last week i met @kimberlymg after work and we had a reservation uptown at @cafebouludny. now kimmy let me pick this spot because it’s been on my list for awhile now. i love daniel boulud’s restaurant’s and i’ve been to almost all of them now at this point and i know earlier that summer she went to daniel and met him there. (which makes me so happy) we had a fabulous dinner: we split the bread and steak tartare. i will be honest, the steak tartare was the dish i liked the least but it was still very good. i thought the binding agent in the tartare was a bit too tomato tasting but again, i did eat it. it wasn’t my favorite. the bread though?! omg that’s a great free bread basket. i loved the charcoal salt on the butter. i got the twice baked potato as my side and that’s the log you see in the third picture. i wasn’t expecting it to look like that hahah but i liked it and ate all of it. the two stars here were the butternut squash risotto and the chocolate lava cake we got for dessert. that has to be one of the best risotto’s i ever had, it was so flavorful and perfect for fall. the chocolate lava cake had that mint lace on top and it actually did taste minty, was a very cool surprise. i will say it was a small dessert for $24 but regardless, still enjoyed it. kimmy liked her entree and she actually saw a video on it and sent it to me the day before we went so she had her heart set on it. we talked all night and she told me about her upcoming paris trip and what it’s been like working at estée lauder the past 12 years. she even gifted me some items from work, which was so sweet of her. kimmy if you are reading this, i’m wearing my mac lip kit right now and my bobbi brown eyeshadow stick. 🙂‍↔️ i love both. stay tuned because we’re going somewhere fun together in november. @danielboulud i was very impressed and this definitely makes my top 3 of your favorite restaurants. rating: 30/10 disco men 🕺🪩
