What a day. We’re feeling so grateful to everyone who helped make Black to the Trails Bristol such a special event. Huge thanks to our amazing photographers @eljaybriss & @eleana.matos who managed to capture the special moments.

From the runners bringing energy to the volunteers and marshals helping everything run smoothly, this was community at its best.

Thank you to our vendors and partners for helping create such a vibrant race village, to the Fire Brigade for bringing along the fire engine that delighted so many, and to our ambulance team for helping everyone enjoy the day safely.

Events like this are never the work of one person or one team. They happen when people come together with a shared belief in community and connection.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created together here in Bristol, and deeply grateful to everyone who was part of it. 🖤

WE ARE HERE 🖤

And now, officially, we’re going to @kendalmountainfestival

I am so bloody incredibly proud to announce that We Are Here is an Official Selection for Kendal Mountain Festival 2026. 🥳

I conceived the idea for this film because I wanted to tell a story I knew needed to be seen.

A story about Black people in trail running and, specifically, Black women.

Because my experience in this sport has shown me that, at the intersection of race and gender, Black women remain among the least represented people on our trails, at our start lines and in the stories the outdoor world tells about itself.

And yet...

We are here. 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🏃🏽‍♀️

Running. Leading. Building community and finding SO MUCH JOY in belonging. 🫶🏽

It feels particularly significant to be able to announce this during UK Black History Month, with this year’s theme of ‘Honouring Our Communities’.

Because this film celebrates them. 🫵🏽❤️

The Black women who show up. Who find each other. Who create community. Who step into spaces where they rarely see themselves reflected back. And who, simply by being there, make it easier for another Black woman to believe she belongs there too.

I conceived the idea for We Are Here, and became Executive Producer, because I wanted this story to exist. It just HAD to exist.

And I didn’t want it to centre our absence. I wanted it to centre our presence. 🏔️

Our joy. Our friendships. Our community @blacktrailrunners. 🖤

Our right to belong. ✊🏽

And now that story is going to be shown at Kendal Mountain Festival and we get to announce it during Black History Month, I honestly can’t think of a more fitting announcement.

Official Selection. Kendal Mountain Festival 2026.

We were here.
We are here.
And we will continue to be here. 🖤

I love you my sisters @rebecca_runs_wild @marathongracefully @kimbowa2016 @serena.broadway @significantpt124 @juliette_dennyy who made this film possible and so much love to @carehighman @theultrarunnergirl for their constant support and talent to help make our dream come true.

2019 me wouldn’t believe what we got to do this week. I remember our first time visiting Chamonix for UTMB, looking around and saying to Tim, “how cool would it be to have a film project here?” This was our third trip back for UTMB filming and the novelty isn’t wearing off.

Our filmmaking journey has been filled with a lot of lows, my loved ones can attest to that, but this week was one of the highs. We worked with athletes and producing teams we admire and respect. We spent time in some of our favorite mountains. We witnessed incredible performances, celebrated efforts to move the needle for access issues in our sport, and reunited with friends, film subjects and clients.
So here’s your reminder, if you need one, to hang on through the lows because a high is on the other side.
Huge shout out to Fanny, @matthewjamesporter @thehilaryann @morgane.brgeois and @emma_dlrme @heronhibou for supporting all the moving pieces of production this week!

‘You’ll never do a whole lot unless you’re brave enough to try.’ - Dolly Parton (1946 - 2026) 🙏🏽

Today I got brave.

For weeks I have been creating, and today hosted, with the support of @utmbworldseries and @suunto, the second Global Majority Gathering at @utmbmontblanc.

An event that, first and foremost, put community front and centre. A space to connect, share, build relationships and strengthen our global community.

Curated for us, by us.

A gathering for ethnically diverse people across trail running. From grassroots community leaders to change makers. From everyday runners to elite athletes. From support teams to allies committed to taking intentional action when it comes to racial equity in our sport.

And it was SO beautiful to witness.

It was SO needed.

It was emotional in all the small and large ways that come with being seen, being understood, being in community and being HERE.

This work to increase inclusion, participation and representation of historically minoritised people is not easy. It can be painful. At times, it can be mentally damaging.

So why do I do it?

For mornings like this. ⬆️
For people like this. ⬆️
For US. ❤️

We move forward in power. In community. Together.

Because WE ARE HERE.

Always have been. ✅
And I promise you, we ALWAYS will be. ✊🏽

If you can’t see it, be it 🫵🏽

Special thanks to @heronhibou and @corrinemalcolm for their support in helping me bring this event to life once again.
