IT'S PLANT DROP-OFF TIME FOR @IntercityShow! Let's talk about entry tags for your plants... 🌿 First off, ANYONE can enter their plants in our show. Bring them by on our plant dropoff days and show them off. 🌵 Each plant you enter into the show will need an Entry tag. You choose your division and choose the correct color tag to fill out. 🗒 NOVICE - pink ADVANCED - yellow OPEN - blue Fill out your name at the TOP and BOTTOM of the tag. This is important so you get credit for your plant entry. 🥇 Next, fill out the Plant Name part with genus and species. Not sure which species you have? Don't worry, we'll have our team of plant experts on hand to help you ID your plants! Again, fill this out on the top and bottom. 🖋 Finally, you're going to look up your plant genus in our show guide and write the Category number one both halves of the tag. 🔢 The tag then gets folded and put under the pot and the plant gets placed on the table with the category number sign. 📄 The just sit back, allow your plants to get judged, and wait to see if you won a ribbon! 🥇 We really do encourage you to show off your plants! If you have any other questions, DM us! 🌵

It takes a village… About 5 years ago, @stacyy_thorpe and I got married in true story worthy fashion. When most hear about it, they hear “surprise wedding” and assume it means I planned it, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In reality, Stacy got to show up to her wedding day in the same way I did (just with a few less details.) I say all that because that wedding was an example of what our life looks like. We got married with the help of our village, and I’m not talking about planning a wedding. Our village encouraged us when we were having hard moments, admonished us when we (or just me) were acting selfishly. Here are a couple examples: - A roommate prayed for my future relationship before I was even looking for one - Another encouraged me to process past hurts before making major decisions - A friend pushed me to fight for purity But the village didn’t stop there. Our first years of marriage were some of the most fun, challenging moments of my life. We needed perspective and we needed advocates. (Literally, we needed someone to sit down with us and say “we’re here to help team Thorpe”). This meant that they would bear up our burdens, correcting us when we needed correction and comforting us when we needed comfort. Then we became parents and as you can imagine… we didn’t graduate from needing others. As our seasons changed, some of those friends changed and some stayed the same. But I’m convinced that every season takes an intentional decision to “go make your village.” Stacy and I have been incredibly blessed that we didn’t have to work very hard to find them, but we all have to work very hard to keep them. The alternative is not loneliness, it’s loss of what should be.

Feeling all the positivity last weekend at our sale was amazing. It is so nice being together, supporting our club and enjoying our hobby. To the club members and vendors, you worked so hard, and to our guests, you made our spring sale a success. . . . #cactus #succulent #plant #plantstagram #plantlover #plantas #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantsofinstagram #cacti #succulents #succie #gardening #garden #urbangarden #strangeplants #instagood #photooftheday #picoftheday #nature #love #lacss #lacactusandsucculentsociety
