Love reunited with old friends and met new friends! Felt refreshed in the creative process and in having real dialogue about films again!

Thank you, Linda Lai! And thank you to the beautiful seminar fellows and the organizers of the Oberhausen Short Film Festival!

The experience over this week provided a therapeutic, courageous opportunity for sincere dialogue and to meet wonderful artists and thinkers. Glad to be back and contributing in a different capacity! Oberhausen is my favorite film festival! @kurzfilmtage.oberhausen

The Pin Ups, 2006, 7 minutes
video projection on paper

Filmed at an arts residency at sub-art in Croatia, The Pin Ups uses the traditional posed photograph and turns it into a moving image. A reflection upon the current obsessive photo culture, The Pin Ups instead uses a singular, steady long shot, focusing on the intensity of the gaze, the moment. The unrelenting length of the shot also uncovers the staged and unnatural positioning behind the facade. The initially cheerful poses appear somewhat painful the longer the camera holds the models in place. Is the camera dictating the length of the pose or are the models unable to stop the posing, desperate to keep up appearances?

The Pin Ups, 2006, 7 Minuten
