We had the incredible honor of hosting our dear friend, the former Ambassador to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons @johnrichmond1 for dinner.

Serving in the nation’s highest ranking position dedicated to human trafficking, he led U.S. foreign policy related to modern slavery and coordinated the U.S. government’s response the crime.

We gathered around a beautiful table with a dynamic group of women in Orange County who are committed to this cause.

Although the subject matter was heavy, we were filled with hope as John inspired and equipped us with knowledge about the global issue so that we can shine a light on this dark issue in our communities.

Thank you @johnrichmond1 for serving our country and this issue with a heart of love and justice. Thank you to our community for your incredible support. And thank you to the Willow team and vendors that made this night happen. @kimdavenport @jesspirrophoto @katyjahangiri @urbangardenernb @malibufarmlido And thank you @amandaagriffiths your life-changing warrior bracelets!

My friend @kelseyraemorgan runs @willowintl and has done such a good job doing so that people like @johnrichmond1, (theeeeeeeee #1 head honcho for the entire United States of America fighting human trafficking) love her and her work and come for dinners to support her and meet her friends... lucky us:)

When @kirbykurzeka @carlykurzeka @hadleymoney and I formed @hope_orangecounty, we didn’t know the first thing about what we are doing, how to contribute, who to work with etc and @kelseyraemorgan has been such an amazing friend and teacher in the space of quality work x human trafficking.

John spoke so highly of Kelsey saying that the women and children she cares for at Willow feel LOVED. He also spoke about making wrong things right which is what he has done in his career- locking up traffickers as the prosecutor of the year with the Department of Justice then becoming Ambassador for USA fighting human trafficking. 🇺🇸🙌🏼

This is a marathon not a sprint and we are really honored to be learning from the very best. There’s a book floating around about knowing what you don’t know... on a topic as layered, heavy and complicated as this, we know that we (Kirby Carly Hadley and myself to be clear haha) don’t know a lot. There are no quick fixes but we are *hoping that by making ourselves available that our path will light up and show us where our place is. 🕯🕊

John is speaking this morning at St. Andrew’s Church at 11:45. It’s a unique opportunity so do come if you have an interest.
