What a fun and inspiring conference, plus epic friend reunion! Loved seeing everyone and sharing the collective knowledge. (I can’t tag Kate DiCamillo, but her keynote was 🤯. Amazing!) #kidlit #scbwi #childrensbooks

The highlight of Letters and Lines 2026 was seeing friends and making new ones. I needed that more than I realized! Thanks friends for the hugs, the conversations, the laughs, and the fun!

I also appreciated the wisdom and inspiration in all the sessions I attended. It gave me back a spark that had been flickering during my recent search for a new agent, reminding me why I write in the first place—for kids, for joy, for telling new stories. And my sweet friend @cicchese.art reminded me that all my big feelings are okay. (Plus, I can use them in my next story!)

I am SO tired but taking all my supplements and praying the crowds didn’t affect my immune suppressed health.

Today, I get to ride a horse which I’m pretty sure is a cure for everything!

Onward with joy!

What a wonderful whirlwind of a weekend (say that 5 times fast)! I'm so grateful to have been on a panel with @biancaschulzewriter, @laurenkerstein, and @carmelalavignacoyleauthor, to have been able to meet and learn from Kate DiCamillo and @pacylin, and to see and connect with so many amazing friends. Thanks to the RMC-SCBWI faculty and volunteers for such a special conference!

What’s it like to go to a children’s author conference in Golden Colorado? Exhilarating, inspiring, overwhelming, amazing, daunting, sometimes even discouraging! But most of all challenging! Which is what we all need when we have a dream. Challenge yourselves, people! No matter what you want to do. Get in there and roll up your sleeves. And if you’re brave enough, surround yourself with others that know more than you do. And then listen. #kidslit #indieauthors #writerscommunity #juststart #childrensbooks

Eek! Submitting a manuscript is always so exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. The thought that someone could fall in love with your manuscript as much as you love it, or not at all, is such a rush!

Big shoutout to @kimtomsic for posting agents with open submissions!
