That's the Rodeocross triathlon, and the 2026 version starts next Wednesday. NOT TONIGHT, if you show up tonight you'll be even lonelier than usual. But if you're into combining three activities that you don't do very well into one awkward, drunken, sweaty mess, we'll be ready for you next Wednesday the 14th. It's gonna be even more awkward, drunken, and sweaty than your last date.

Rodeocross is coming for you, and there's no point in trying to run away. It travels faster than regret, and almost as fast as your bad reputation. It is less resistable than gravity. Go on, give in. All the cool kids are doing it.

Actually, all the cool kids are doing cool things. Rodeocross is infested with awkward dorks who don't have anyone else to hang out with. In other words, we're like family.

Speaking of family, your unmanageable children (16 & under, not the ones with jobs) race for free, so we're the cheapest babysitter around, provided your usual babysitter is 200 drunks.

You don't even have to race at Rodeocross. You can just sit serenely while the maelstrom swirls around you, imperious and above it all. But you're still gonna go home sweaty and dusty and smelling like beer, so you might as well get a number and become part of the show. Watching instead of doing is for weirdos.

This is it. The absolute Mac Daddy of all Rodeocross photos. Captured eons ago by the inimitable, indefatigable, impermeable @jnamba , here we see a National Champion, wearing an Elmo jersey, with a PBR in one hand and a cupcake hovering both in and out of his mouth. You can bet his blood alcohol level is non-zero too.

We interrupt the summer of your discontent to bring you news of the fall.
The fall of SpaceX stock?
The fall of the US as a respected global superpower?
The fall of Gondor?
Nay, though all these things be true, we bring tidings of a different sort. Folsom Rodeocross, the most thrilling thing to hit Folsom since seven FPD officers busted a guy for jaywalking across Sutter Street from the Powerhouse, is returning in October.

For 2026, we're:
STILL the cheapest racing in NorCal
STILL the most fun you can have with shoes on
STILL free racing for 16 and under thanks to @pacossacramento and @kinetic_cycles
STILL recommended by 4 out of 5 dentists

The City of Folsom, in their infinite wisdom, has scheduled even more 💩 in our legacy calendar spot for this year, so we only get three rodeos this year - October 14, 21, and 28. But if there's anyone that knows how to pack 5 parties into 3 nights, it's y'all.

Truckee Gravel U30 11/30. 100 more miles of suffering

Not much I want to say about the race itself, just a repeat of L&F. Just feels like I’m moving in the right direction with a broken foot.

It’s hard to think of these as “just” bike races when we put so much time and effort into the training - giving up a lot to chase these dreams. Pretty emotional the last month not knowing where things are going wrong either is the hardest part of it all. Relieved to be back on the MTB for the rest of the season doing “shorter” racing.

Winning isn’t everything, but losing isn’t anything - Charlie Brown

Lost & Found Gravel didn’t go the way I was hoping for after a solid performance at Wente. A lot has gone into balancing school, traveling, and training while battling sickness and unfortunately the stress caught up to me right before the race. The altitude made it impossible to hide the fatigue.

I was borderline DFL and DNF for most of the race, with a lot of emotions, but luckily scrounged up enough effort to make it to the finish. This week at home following the race isn’t what I wanted either, I was excited to put in a big block, but the right move was to take it easy. Not sure how much I’ll have for Truckee Gravel next week, but should be better than this.

Well, the racing's all done for the 2026 season, but we have one more opportunity to get together and hang out, talk about the season, and acknowledge our champions and others behind the scenes. Tonight we hope to see you all at Folsom City Lions Park for our annual awards party and raffle. Show up any time after 5:00pm, we'll get things officially started around 6:00. We'll have cold beer from Bike Dog on tap, feel free to BYO drinks and snacks. We have a sweet collection of goodies from local shops and companies to raffle off, including a SWEET 24-inch wheel Specialized Riprock for a lucky Grom!

We're gonna close out the season's email campaign with some amazing pics from Dean Yoshizumi @dyosh_photos , featuring some of our favorite riders from 2026.
