Paula Kowalska didn't plan a career in football. She fell into it.

She started at a PR agency in Warsaw, worked on campaigns with Manchester United and Leeds United, and now she's Head of Marketing and Partnerships at Kinetic Foundation, a football and education charity in London.

I sent her six questions and she was open and honest with every one of them.

If you've ever wondered whether there's a way into football that isn't playing or scouting, have a read. Full interview on Substack, link in bio.

After 5 and a half years... my time at Kinetic has come to an end 💛🖤

Taking photos at a few Kinetic games a month in April 2021 turned into a full time Social Media & Marketing role a few months later. For most of my time, I was a one man band covering socials, photography, filming, editing, logistics & everything in between. It’s added up to thousands of posts, hundreds of millions of views & hundreds of thousands of photos/videos.

There have been too many memories to fit into 1 post, from FA Youth Cup runs & wins against pro club academies to UK tours, El Clásico in Madrid, player chaperone duties in Sweden, repping Kinetic at the Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand & Women’s Euros in Switzerland, taking over the adidas LDN Flagship Store twice, our 10th & 15th anniversary games, launching Kinetic Girls & seeing Son Heung-min surprise our players at training.

I’ve always felt it was important to celebrate our graduates. Since Kinetic began in 2011, 84 players have signed for pro clubs, 38 during my time, with hundreds more playing across the Non-League pyramid. Many have reached the Premier League, EFL, Champions League & Europa League & represented their countries. I’m proud to have watched their journeys develop & told their stories along the way. Keeping up with everyone was almost a full time job in itself!

Kinetic has been a huge part of my life since 2021. I started when at a very low point personally, so leaving has been a really difficult decision, but it feels like the right time to move on.

A huge thank you to co-founders James Fotheringham & Harry Hudson for creating the role & trusting me to take the socials in the direction I saw fit. Thank you to Paula Kowalska, who has taken Kinetic to another level since joining 2 years ago. I’ve learned so much from you & enjoyed working together.

Thank you to everyone else I’ve worked with & shared countless matches, tours & events with. So much hard work goes into supporting the players & making Kinetic what it is.

Lastly, thank you to all the players, past & present. It’s been a privilege to capture your journeys, watch you develop on & off the pitch & share your achievements.
