Stone Set | Lapis Lazuli, sterling silver
➖
New to the Stone Set collection, this electrifying blue lapis lazuli is now available at KIN Gallery.

A smooth sterling silver bezel encloses the stone, finished in a soft matte. Lapis forms when limestone is reworked by heat and pressure deep underground, and the pyrite it carries leaves a hint of gold through the blue.

Now available in store at @kingallery ♥️

Stone Set | Lapis Lazuli and sterling silver
➖
It begins as a rough casting, grey and grainy from the mould. Filing, sanding and time at the bench finalises the form, until the silver is ready to close around the stone.

For centuries Lapis Lazuli was ground down to make ultramarine, a pigment once valued above gold. This one stays whole, a trace of pyrite catching the light as it’s taken through to a final polish.

Heading to @kingallery in Canberra.

Ok…. Say hello to ‘Persephone’. This necklace is a collaboration between the fabulously talented Ingrid Penc @kingallery and @brian.tunks . Approximately 27 carats of beautiful tourmalines (from Brian) paired with an oxidised sterling silver necklace with textured panels. Ingrid wanted to reference Brian’s background in archaeology and fuse this with the texture of the @brian.tunks faceted glass collection. A seriously stylish piece which is absolutely a one-off design. The clasp is a T-bar. Thanks to @leantimms for her photography (bts shots by Brian) and the beautiful Hayley our model. Enquires to @kingallery or @brian.tunks . #briantunks #kingallery #persephone #necklace #tourmaline

Texture. Sounds. Sparkle. ✨

A little creekside moment with a textured diamond ring, accompanied by the sounds of running water and frogs. 💎

Haven’t reeled in a while, but I thought I’d share an overview of this process: making a replacement of a client’s lost earring to complete the pair

Thanks to my lovely stockists @kingallery 💖

Ripple Ring | 9ct Rose Gold
➖
The Ripple Ring came from surfaces shaped by water. Sand after a tide, rock worn smooth by a river, the undulations that appear when something soft moves over something hard for long enough.

The band is formed with the same logic. The surface rises and falls rather than sitting flat, so it catches light unevenly and shifts as the hand moves. Finished matte rather than polished, so the texture reads as worn rather than decorated..

This one is on its way soon to everyone’s friend @kingallery ♥️
